Xiaojun and the young girl left, leaving some pieces of thorn from the bear. Around them there were only trees, bushes and grass tall, the grass have one meter high, they both have come quite a long way since they first meet. Xiaojun casually cut the tall grass in front of him as if it was no big deal. On the way to the cave, they had a small talk. Even though Xiaojun answered it indifferently.
"Sir, what your name? And what are you doing in this forest? Why do you live alone in here?" The girl ask Xiaojun softly. Turning forward to his face, his face looked flat. The girl's seen holding straps of the herbal plant bag she was carrying oh her shoulder,
looking up at the bright blue sky.
"I don't know who i am, all i know is my name; Xiaojun." Xiaojun answered with a straight face.
"Xiaojun? You name comes from Xiao Clan? That means we have a same surname! My name is Xiao Lin Mo, i come from Jie Yang Village, in this village there are have many families who come from the Xiao Clan." Xiao Lin Mo spoke happily, being able to meet other people with the surname Xiao.
She continues speech.
"This Jie Yang Village is located far away from the Empire, in the northern part to be precise... But people in this Village are friendly and kind, next time we meet again, i will invite you to the village." An innocent smile plastered on Xiao Lin Mo's Face. Xiaojun turning forward see, Xiao Lin Mo face, he seemed to see the child in his dream. Xiaojun started to feel the throbbing in his head had comeback, he held his throbbing head and started to moan softly. Xiaojun's moans were not heard by Xiao Lin Mo.
"Sir, do you believe in the existence of God? My family's believes that God exists, my parents said that we humans without God are just empty vessels without a purpose. Do you know why?" Xiao Lin Mo paused for a moment, then continues her speech.
"Because water without fish still water, but fish without water? The fish will die. Likewise the land, land without a trees still land, but trees without land will fall. And yeah the point of all of that is, humans without Gods are just creatures without purpose, while Gods without human are still God." Xiao Lin Mo turned to Xiaojun with joy in her face, she seemed to be a wise scholar.
"Sir! Are you okay? Am i talking too much?" Xiao Lin Mo raised her hand trying check Xiaojun's condition carelessly, Xiaojun brushed her hand away and said, "I'm fine."
"Are you sure, sir?" Xiao Lin Mo felt her feellings shattered, she was a little worried.
"Now it's my turn to ask you." Xiaojun paused for a moment, then continues his speech.
"What is the essence of the xistence of God? Will God as the highest see and they followers? Did God create humans just to follow him? If God still a God without humans, then why did he create human to worship him? Does the destiny determined by the Gods really favor their followers or just playing with them?" Xiaojun stared at Xiao Lin Mo with a straight face, and cold, Spirit Fox in his shadow spoke softly, it's voice only audible to Xiaojun.
"Your words too heavy for a unknown young girl, Xiaojun. Look at her face, that a annoying girl, don't waste your time for debate to her."
"Ah-! Come on sir, we go to your home, before monsters come to us." Xiao Lin Mo answered with rashly, trying to change the subject. They started continue their journey back.
"You right." Xiaojun answered words spirit fox.
"Sir, you ask me?" Xiao Lin Mo ask Xiaojun, she heard he started talk.
"Nothing–!" Xiaojun breathing slowly, and softly.
they continued their journey to the Cave, where Xiaojun had started his journey and stay there. The atmosphere become a little awkward on the way to the cave. Xiao Lin Mo started talking to lighten the atmosphere, she wanted to tell a short story about a legend in her village.
"Sir, did you know? In Jie Yang Village there is a legend about a God spirit, in the story the God descended to earth, helping people in trouble, the god who knew that Jie Village had no resources came to Jie Yang Village, then gave blessings in the form of agricultural and livestock resources. That's why Jie Yang Village always wish to the God." Xiao Lin Mo looked Xiaojun face, she have a little smile.
"Huh... Dogma, can make the wrong choice." Xiaojun took a deep breath, he looked at the sky, and slowly lowered his head, focusing his gaze forward.
"What that's mean sir?" Xiao Lin Mo put a confused face, she looked like an earthworm that had been use as fishing bait.
"You will understand when the time comes." Xiaojun paused for a moment, and he continues his speech. "Alright this time we going to cave before night comes or monsters attack."
"Okay sir."
The two of them finally arrived at the cave where Xiaojun lived. Xiao Lin Mo saw that the cave looked like a place untouched by humans. It was damp, silent, filled with rocks and cobwebs, but occasionally the sound of dripping water echoed throughout.
"Master Xiaojun, you live in a place like this?" Xiao Lin Mo looked around anxiously. She had also seen several horned centipedes that possessed deadly venom.
"Then what?" Xiaojun spoke as he cut the meat and peeled off the skin of the bear he had killed earlier, "Quickly cook this meat for me, then once it's cooked, get out of here." Xiaojun threw a lump of meat the size of a human body towards Xiao Lin Mo. Xiaojun froze the rest of the meat and stored it in the cave to eat the next day.
"Are you serious about eating all that bear meat by yourself?" Xiao Lin Mo stared in amazement. "That ideal, slender body can eat that much?" he muttered to himself.
"Why are you so quiet? Hurry up and cook for me, if you want some, take some piece." Xiaojun sat waiting by the side of the cave, leaning back, while Xiao Lin Mo was silent, thinking about how he could cook such a big piece of meat.
Xiao Lin Mo held his chin as he pondered how to cook it. "A piece of meat this big seems more suited to grilling than making soup, no… It seems better to just fry it, but… How am I supposed to flip it when it's this big!"
Finally Xiao Lin Mo decided to chop the big meat into smaller pieces, he also chopped some plants that he collected to flavor his food. Xiao Lin Mo had decided to just cook it into soup. While Xiao Lin Mo was busy cooking Xiaojun fell asleep on the cave wall waiting for his meal to be finished.
"Sir, are you serious? How am I supposed to cook if you don't even have any cooking utensils!" Xiao Lin Mo was annoyed at Xiaojun's lagging behind. Xiaojun didn't hear Xiao Lin Mo's annoyed shouts, he continued sleeping.
"Huh… Luckily I always carry useful things in my storage bag when I go out to look for herbs." Xiao Lin Mo opened his leather pouch, taking out a pot and some firewood for cooking.
Xiaojun dreams about the little girl who was with him, her face and body gradually fade from his memory. Slowly the image of the child's decapitation reappears, but this time there are pieces of a 15-year-old girl wearing traditional clothing, like a girl from a village. Xiaojun wakes up with heavy breathing, he starts holding his head, Xiaojun looks around a little surprised when Xiao Lin Mo is already in front of him.
"What are you doing in front of me? Get out of my way!" Xiaojun demanded, still having flashbacks of the dream.
"Sorry, I just wanted to wake you up, sir, the food is cooked," said Xiao Lin Mo with a small smile.
"Okay, have you taken some? If not, let's eat together." Xiaojun took out a coconut shell and a wooden spoon from his storage pouch, which served as a bowl for the two of them to eat from.
Xiaojun got up from his seat and approached the food that Xiao Lin Mo was cooking. Xiaojun took off his mask and started to taste a little of the freshly cooked meat soup. He was a little stunned because the taste was so well combined without any clashing flavors. It was savory, sweet, and a little spicy, all perfectly mixed together.
"How is it, Sir? My cooking is delicious, isn't it?" Xiao Lin Mo spoke in a proud tone. He was a little surprised to see Xiaojun's face without his mask, his face was incredibly beautiful, with silver eyes and fox pupils. "He's so beautiful and handsome, is there really someone like him in this world?" Xiao Lin Mo whispered to himself.
"You have quite the skill. Don't just stand there and eat with me. You look hungry." Xiaojun and Xiao Lin Mo began eating together, making small talk and observing their surroundings. Night was beginning to fall, bringing the wild animals to their active hunting grounds.
Xiao Lin Mo, who wanted to return home to the village after completing his return, felt he didn't dare to leave Xiaojun's place, thinking that if he went out, he would definitely be eaten by wild animals. Xiao Lin Mo asked Xiaojun's permission to stay in the cave until dawn, but Xiaojun couldn't refuse because it was very dangerous outside even though Xiaojun accompanied him.
