Meanwhile, while the Three Kings Inheritance was going on, in the Central Continent, another inheritance had opened up.
Tian Ti Mountain was the largest and grandest mountain in the Central Continent. It pierced through the clouds and seemed to go and strike at the underbelly of heaven itself, it stood over 3,000 km tall, and it was also called the stairway to the Heavenly Court. As such its image was inscribed in the hearts of many Central Continent cultivators, the mountain being a physical representation of the desire to transcend the heavens and obtain immortality. Many cultivators left behind their inheritances there given the importance of the region toward the continent this was somewhat of a tradition in the Central Continent.
Fairy Bai Hu, who was a Gu Master of the enslavement path, specialized in enslaving foxes. Through a chance special encounter, she had managed to obtain Dang Hun Mountain, one of the secluded domains of Heaven and Earth from The Legends of RenZu itself. She had perished during an Earthly Calamity regardless, and the Hu Immortal blessed land had fallen to Tian Ti Mountain.
The Hu Immortal blessed land had now opened up, and so the Ten Sects were currently competing for who would get control over it.
When Ren Zu had gone through the door of life and death in order to try and rescue Verdant Great Sun, he had to pass through Dang Hun Mountain in order to get Guts Gu. Guts Gu were actual gu worms in real life as well; their effect was to improve one's soul foundation. Spectral Soul Demonic Venerable, the founder of the Soul Path, had praised them as being the only method to strengthen one's soul without any side effects.
Fang Yuan had obtained a few Guts Gu through the Embodiment of Humanity's Collective Will in the form of the Goody Two-Shoes System, but he had long since run out and as such had been relying upon methods like Soul-Soothing Tea in order to strengthen his soul foundation instead.
"Remember - Guts Gu, despite being mortal gu are not ordinary."
"Yes, yes, I know," a young woman replied. She had heard the words "Guts Gu, despite being mortal Gu, are not ordinary" at least twelve times that very morning, and had already had it long drilled into her head. She didn't need anyone else to tell her again.
This girl was one of the most prodigal Gu Masters of Spirit Affinity House.
It was none other than Feng Jin Huang. She wore a phoenix coronet, her skin was white like snow and had a straight nose with deep red lips. She has slanted eyes which seemed to emanate lightning, her golden brows were thin and long and there was a small red birthmark in the middle of her brows. She appeared like a radiant phoenix, about to seize control of the heavens themselves.
If ever there was a child of destiny, it would be Feng Jin Huang!
Born as a child to Feng Jiu Ge and Fairy Bai Qing, she had the support of two Gu Immortals ever since she had grown up. A prodigal genius, she had also been blessed by Dream Wings Gu, a Rank 6 Immortal gu worm which she had obtained in her dreams. For a mortal Gu Master to have an Immortal Gu was almost unheard of. There were very few people who could make such a claim, Fang Yuan being one of them back when he had regressed using the Spring Autumn Cicada.
In Fang Yuan's previous life, before using the Spring Autumn Cicada, Feng Jin Huang had won the Hu Immortal blessed land contest, and had gained control over the Hu Immortal blessed land. Fang Yuan had then invaded it along with some other demonic path cultivators. Though he had been unable to obtain her Dream Wings Immortal Gu, he had successfully killed her.
But her fortune wasn't just limited to that.
Fang Yuan now knew that Feng Jin Huang was not just a prodigal Gu Master. She was also destined to become the future Great Dream Immortal Venerable prophesied long ago.
However, despite all of these advantages, she had still ended up being killed by Fang Yuan in his previous life.
'All right, it's time to go in,' Feng Jin Huang thought to herself as she stepped forward.
The ten sects were competing, but only mortals were allowed to enter, though the use of Immortal Gu was still permitted.
Before events had started, there had been a contest to decide who would be the first to go in. Feng Jin Huang had been the one who won it, having exceptional battle strength since birth and defeating all of her enemies with ease.
Because of this, she was going to be the first one to enter.
She walked into the Hu Immortal blessed land and immediately saw Dang Hun Mountain. It was a massive mountain made out of purple crystal.
Before her, a young girl wearing colorful clothing appeared. She looked to be about six years old and had a cute expression, as well as a small, bushy white tail extending from her back. The tail was quite cute, making one want to play with it or to pat the girl on the head.
"Are you this place's land spirit?" Feng Jin Huang asked.
"Oh, junior sister is very smart," the land spirit answered. "Yes, I'm the Hu Immortal blessed land's land spirit. This is Dang Hun Mountain. Whoever gets to the top first will become the inheritor of the Hu Immortal blessed land."
Dang Hun Mountain had the effect of suppressing souls. Right now, its power had been reduced by the land spirit; otherwise, someone like Feng Jin Huang could not even stand near it without collapsing. Her eyes flashed with energy as she slowly took a step towards the base and began climbing, feeling the weight upon her soul increase the further she went up. Over time, the other contestants also appeared; however, she had quite the lead on them.
'Hmm, there is absolutely no way that I'm going to lose here,' she thought to herself. 'Dang Hun Mountain will be mine!'
In terms of value, the Hu Immortal blessed land inheritance was worth more than the Three Kings Inheritance.
Despite the fact that the Three Kings Inheritance had an Immortal Gu within it, while the Hu Immortal blessed land had no Immortal Gu inside, the value of the blessed land itself was massive.
The Three Kings Inheritance blessed land was going to ultimately die out. The Hu Immortal blessed land, however, was still young and vital, and was quite useful for farming resources. Not to mention, there was the value of Dang Hun Mountain itself.
It produced Guts Gu, which despite being mortal Gu were not ordinary.
Dang Hun Mountain was worth more than a single Immortal Gu.
In spite of this, Fang Yuan had made no overt attempts towards attempting to obtain the Hu Immortal blessed land's inheritance.
He was currently still within Gu Yue Village, monitoring events at San Cha Mountain regarding the Three Kings Inheritance.
Almost everything was going according to plan.
The village itself was quite orderly; his presence alone smoothed things over, as no one wanted to cause an issue that could escalate to him. Many of the Gu Yue clansmen also slept better in their beds knowing the fact that a Rank 6 Immortal from their clan had reappeared and was dutifully watching over them. None of the other clans dared cause trouble in his presence.
Fang Yuan spent most of his time fixated on managing his immortal aperture as well as the resources within the two heavens above them, but he also glanced downward at the events unfolding on the continent below.
The most notable were, of course, Wang Tian's efforts in founding a city. Although a formal name had not been established for this settlement, Fang Yuan felt that this would soon be called Wang Tian City. Right now, all it consisted of was a number of mud huts located near a stream which fed into the sea. This ensured that the city had easy access to the ocean as well as a source of fresh water.
There was no nearby primeval spring - the closest one was about 80 miles off. However, Wang Tian had chosen to prioritize the well-being of everyone rather than just that of Gu Masters while founding the city.
Fang Yuan could only shake his head. Water as well as other resources could be compensated for so long as one had a primeval spring; Wang Tian had clearly made the wrong decision. Then again, equality was the basis of what Wang Tian was trying to establish and not necessarily what was best for Gu Masters.
