[POV - Rito][Sainan - Yuuki House - Night]
Silence.
The house was quiet. Lala, Momo and Nana had finally gone to sleep after hours of animated conversation about "what it'll be like living on Earth." Mikan had gone to her room, muttering something about "how the house is getting crowded." Asia had retreated to her own room after saying goodnight shyly.
And me...
Alone.
I was alone in the garden, looking at the stars.
Decision time.
I had avoided doing this for a long time. A very long time. Centuries, actually. Or would it be millennia? Time was relative when you existed outside it.
Omniscience.
Omniscience.
The power to know everything. See everything. Understand everything. Past, present, future — all open like a book you've already read a thousand times.
Boring.
It was boring.
Damn, how boring it was.
Flashback - Before Reincarnation.
As the Presence, in the DC universe, I had everything. Absolute knowledge. Absolute power. Absolute control.
I could bend reality at my whim. Create universes with a thought. Destroy multiverses with a sigh.
And it was... empty.
When you know everything that will happen, nothing surprises. When you can do anything, nothing challenges. When you are everything, you are also... nothing.
That's why I chose to reincarnate. Chose to forget. Chose to be... human.
End flashback.
But now.
But now I needed to know. Needed to understand what had really happened when I reincarnated.
Deep breath.
I took a deep breath — unnecessary gesture, but comforting — and...
Connect.
I connected.
WHOOOOOOSH.
Omniscience hit like a cosmic tsunami, flooding my consciousness with infinite information.
Everything.
Everything.
I saw everything.
Understood everything.
And finally... finally... I comprehended what had happened.
Oh.
Oh shit.
Realization.
I wasn't in the DC universe. Never was.
Or rather... I was AND wasn't.
Fusion.
When I reincarnated, when the Presence's essence manifested in Yuuki Rito... I had caused something even I hadn't foreseen when I abdicated omniscience.
A multiversal fusion.
Merging.
Entire universes — DC, Marvel, Dragon Ball, and dozens of others from anime, movies, stories — all merging into a single cohesive reality.
And I was the center. The anchor point. The supreme deity of this new cosmic union.
Clarity.
The information organized itself perfectly in my mind. No strain, no overwhelm — just pure, crystalline understanding. That was the nature of divine omniscience. Not a burden, but simply... knowing.
Process.
I processed. Organized. Comprehended.
DXD wasn't a separate universe. It was part of my creation too. Always was. I had just forgotten when I chose to reincarnate without memories.
And when I returned... when I awakened as Rito... my mere existence had pulled everything together.
Gravity.
Like a gravitational black hole, but for entire realities.
Look around.
I expanded my omniscient vision, looking beyond the Milky Way, beyond the neighboring galaxies where Darkseid, Thanos, and Frieza waited.
Other worlds.
And I saw other worlds. Other dimensions still connected to my essence.
Westeros. The world of Ice and Fire. ASOIAF.
Middle-earth. Tolkien's world. LOTR.
Missing gods.
And in these worlds... the supreme gods had disappeared.
Eru Ilúvatar in Middle-earth. Simply... gone.
The nameless god in Westeros. Absent.
Because.
Because they were ME. Different aspects, different manifestations, but all... ME.
And when I concentrated everything in Yuuki Rito, they disappeared.
Guilt.
I felt a pang of guilt. These worlds needed divine guidance. Not direct intervention — that always caused more problems than solutions — but presence. Awareness that someone was watching.
Idea.
An idea formed.
Avatars.
I could create avatars. Versions of myself — not complete clones, but fragments of consciousness. Powerful enough to observe, wise enough to guide when absolutely necessary, but limited enough not to interfere too much.
Snap.
With a thought...
Manifestation.
I felt when the avatars materialized. One in Westeros, observing the Seven Kingdoms from some point beyond time. One in Middle-earth, walking through the Undying Lands in a form elves would recognize but not completely understand.
Relief.
Relief. These worlds were no longer orphaned.
But.
But I wouldn't intervene directly. Not anymore. I learned that lesson eons ago.
Free will was sacred. Even when it hurt to watch bad choices being made.
Galactic view.
Then I expanded my vision even further, looking at the galaxies around the Milky Way with renewed attention.
Oh no.
Oh no.
EXE Gods.
There they were. In the dark corners between galaxies, in overlapping dimensions that most beings would never perceive.
The EXE Gods.
Chaotic.
Entities of pure chaos. Not necessarily evil — chaos wasn't always bad — but absolutely unpredictable. Dangerous in the way hurricanes are dangerous. Not from malice, but from nature.
Variety.
I saw different types. Gods of Madness. Gods of Entropy. Gods of Paradox. Each representing some aspect of existence that defied order and reason.
Problem.
And they were... awakening.
My reincarnation had been like a cosmic bell. Alerting everything that could sense divine power that something had changed.
Great.
Great. As if Darkseid, Thanos, and Frieza weren't enough.
Calculate.
I calculated quickly. With my current power, could I handle them? Yes. Easily, actually.
But should I?
Philosophy.
That was the question. Not about power, but about consequences.
If I eliminated the EXE Gods, I would be removing chaos from the universe. And without chaos... without unpredictability... everything would become stagnant. Too ordered. Dead in its perfection.
Balance.
The universe needed balance. Order and chaos. Creation and destruction. Light and darkness.
Choice.
I chose to let omniscience fade back to the background. Not because it was difficult — it wasn't — but because I had seen what I needed to see.
Return.
I returned my focus to the present moment. Garden. Night. Stars.
Summary.
So, summarizing what I had discovered:
Multiple universes merged because of my reincarnation
I was the supreme god of ALL of them now
I had created avatars to care for the worlds I had accidentally abandoned
Darkseid, Thanos, and Frieza were problems
EXE Gods were BIGGER problems
And all of this was basically my fault
Responsibility.
Responsibility. The word seemed too small for the weight it carried.
But.
But also... opportunity?
Think.
Thinking about it... having all these connected universes meant infinite possibilities. Heroes from different realities being able to meet. Stories intertwining in ways they never could in separate universes.
Interesting.
It would be... interesting.
If I could avoid everything exploding, of course.
Challenge.
And for the first time in millennia, I felt something I had forgotten.
Anticipation.
Unknown.
Because even with omniscience, I had CHOSEN not to see everything. Had CHOSEN to leave some mystery.
I knew about the threats. Knew about the players. But didn't know exactly how everything would unfold.
Because I had blocked that part of the vision.
On purpose.
Purpose.
To have something to live for. Something to discover. Something to... feel.
Smile.
I smiled, looking at the stars where I knew enemies waited. Where chaos fermented. Where uncertain future unfolded.
— Let them come — I murmured to the universe. — Darkseid. Thanos. Frieza. EXE Gods. All of you.
Power pulse.
I let a tiny pulse of power leak, just enough for those sensitive to divinity to feel.
A declaration. A warning. A promise.
Message.
"You can come. You can try. But you'll learn something fundamental about this merged universe."
"It has a protector."
"And this protector isn't just powerful."
"He is the power."
Finality.
And with that silent declaration echoing through the galaxies, I turned to go back inside.
Lala had probably rolled out of bed again. Momo was probably planning something. Nana was probably dreaming about dogs. Asia was probably still reading that book she'd been engrossed in earlier.
And me...
Human.
I was going to be human a little longer.
Before I had to be God again.
Balance.
Balance.
Always about balance.
