"Little Bun?" Seeing Bi Xiaoyuan standing at the stairway entrance, Bi Xia paused for a moment, then walked over with a smile, making as if to pick him up. Who knew Bi Xiaoyuan would take a step back to avoid her. She was slightly stunned, her brows faintly knitting. "What's wrong?"
Bi Xiaoyuan opened his mouth, met Bi Xia's eyes from which all emotion had been withdrawn, and thought of what Xiao Wu had just said to him. All the composure and calm he'd had in front of Xiao Wu disappeared without a trace; now there was only jittery unease in front of Bi Xia. In the end he bit his lip and left behind one sentence—"I'm not a little kid anymore"—then turned and ran upstairs.
Her hand movements stilled for a beat. Bi Xia silently watched Bi Xiaoyuan's back as he went up the stairs, then after a while leaned sideways against the railing at the stairhead.
"I'm sorry…"
