The rain in Beijing was still falling in scattered drops, albeit now reduced from a torrential downpour to a light drizzle.
As the car turned into the red-tiled house at the back of the military compound, Qin Zhan paused for a moment when he saw the person standing at the door. Instead of letting the driver come to a stop, he opened the car door and stepped out directly, "Why are you here?"
