Chapter 480: The Subordinate God Project
Among Huo Yuhao's soul spirits, when it came to the total amount of spiritual power at its peak and accomplishments in spiritual techniques, Tian Meng Ice Silkworm was undoubtedly number one. Yet, even he was full of envy, as Huo Yuhao's rate of spiritual power growth far outpaced his own.
At this moment, Huo Yuhao's spiritual form appeared within his spiritual sea, observing the six divine flames burning in the distance. He noticed that from the first to the sixth flame, they grew increasingly larger and denser. He muttered to himself, "Each time I ignite a new divine flame, it requires more faith energy. The difficulty of igniting the sixth flame was significantly greater than the first."
He looked up at Electrolux floating in midair and asked, "Teacher, I remember you mentioned before that based on your research on the corpse of the Goddess of Love, once divine flames accumulate to a certain extent, they can condense into the authority of a divine position, ultimately forming a complete godhood. So, from a surface level perspective, this accumulation is simply an increase in the number of divine flames?"
"Exactly," Electrolux nodded. "Based on my studies of the Goddess of Love's corpse and divine positions, for first tier gods and those below, every three divine flames mark a threshold. If you wish to become a first tier god, you need at least nine divine flames. Currently, you have six. In a sense, as long as your cultivation is sufficient, you could already attempt to condense your divine position.
"However, based on my hypothesis, even if your cultivation is adequate, with only six divine flames, you could at best form an incomplete Ice God position probably at the level of a second tier god. I don't know if, in this world, it's possible to condense a divine position first and then enhance its tier later."
Upon hearing this, Huo Yuhao shook his head vigorously, like a rattle drum. He said, "Teacher, I absolutely cannot condense a divine position first and then attempt to raise its tier later. That would be an exhausting and ultimately unprofitable endeavor."
"Oh? Why?" Electrolux, as a scholar with immense curiosity, was intrigued by Huo Yuhao's reasoning.
The other soul spirits also turned their attention to Huo Yuhao, eager to hear his explanation.
Huo Yuhao patiently elaborated, "Because it's simply too difficult. As you know, I am the reincarnation of a deity, and in the few memories I retained from my past life, I learned that even in the Divine Realm, many gods have painstakingly trained in hopes of advancing their divine positions to a higher tier.
"However, since the establishment of the Divine Realm, there has never been a precedent of a god successfully upgrading their divine tier. If you're a second tier god, you will remain a second tier god for eternity; if you're a first tier god, that is your limit for life. Instead of forming a divine position prematurely for short term power gains, I would be far better off focusing on long term benefits continuing to accumulate divine flames in preparation for condensing a God King's position in the future."
Truthfully, even in the current Divine Realm, Tang San had not yet elevated his Sea God position to the level of a God King. In the original story, he did manage to upgrade it, but based on the current timeline, Tang San's Sea God position was still at the first tier god level.
Tang San, as a God King with control over the Divine Realm Hub, had access to an astronomical amount of faith energy. Aside from gaining faith from his worshippers, he could even secretly siphon faith energy from the Divine Realm itself. Of course, the original novel never explicitly stated that Tang San stole faith energy, but this was Huo Yuhao's deduction.
After all, at the age of nine in his past life, Tang San had already successfully stolen Tang Sect's forbidden techniques. His ability to take what was not his was practically innate. So, once he gained control over the Divine Realm Hub, how could he not exploit it for personal gain?
As the saying goes, "A leopard never changes its spots." Under such circumstances, Tang San would certainly have pilfered faith energy for himself. As for the supervision of the God of Destruction truth be told, he could not possibly monitor every minuscule fluctuation in the realm's total faith energy. If the stolen amounts were small enough over time, the God of Destruction would never notice.
With such prolonged, incremental theft, who knew how much faith energy Tang San had secretly amassed? Otherwise, given his level of talent, how could he have elevated the Sea God position to the rank of a God King?
Back when he was in the lower realms, Tang San could rely on Xuan Tian Gong and his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline to accelerate his cultivation. But upon reaching the Divine Realm, his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline became practically useless. As for his highly regarded Xuan Tian Gong, it too would no longer provide any significant benefits.
If even someone like Tang San, with his underhanded methods and access to stolen faith energy, had required many years to promote his divine position, Huo Yuhao certainly had no confidence in forming a second tier god position first and then slowly enhancing it later.
If he condensed a divine position right now, it would likely be an incomplete Ice God position, which would make him similar to Ma Hongjun's current situation.
After all, Ma Hongjun's Phoenix God position was currently only at the second tier level, despite the Phoenix God having once been a God King. The Phoenix God had even heavily injured the Dragon God in the past. Though the Phoenix God had ultimately perished in the process, the fact that he was capable of wounding the Dragon God proved that even among God Kings, some were far superior to others. Not just any deity could accomplish such a feat.
"I see," Electrolux nodded, somewhat amazed. "Then you must continue to accumulate divine flames. Even if your cultivation reaches the necessary threshold, you should wait until you have amassed the maximum number of divine flames before forming your divine position."
Then, he asked, "Yuhao, aside from the expansion of your spiritual sea and the increase in total spiritual power, have you experienced any other changes since igniting your six divine flames?"
"Of course," Huo Yuhao replied. "I have gained deeper access to the authorities of ice and water, enhancing my control over them. More importantly, I now believe I can attempt to establish a subordinate god."
Electrolux raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "A subordinate god? So soon?"
"Yes, now is the time," Huo Yuhao said with a smile. "Subordinate gods are deities bound to my divine position. They share in my authority, spread my divine decrees, and fight for me! Most crucially, in the process of propagating my faith, they can convert a portion of their worshippers' faith energy into my own."
Once again, he explained his concept of subordinate gods.
In truth, he had no qualms about sharing some of his power and faith energy with his subordinate gods. The primary purpose of establishing them was to expand the influence of the Ice God's faith, ultimately increasing the total amount of faith energy he could receive.
To put it simply, subordinate gods were like commission based sales agents, responsible for "selling" belief in the Ice God. The more they spread the faith, the higher their commissions. As long as the overall size of the Ice God's faith expanded, Huo Yuhao would always profit, even after the subordinate gods took their share.
Electrolux was intrigued. "How exactly do you plan to establish a subordinate god?"
Huo Yuhao responded, "Teacher, according to your research, the foundation of godhood is the divine flame. For most beings, igniting a divine flame is an incredibly arduous process. But for subordinate gods, things won't be nearly as difficult."
