Chapter 433: You Seem a Bit Too Extreme
The next day, Huo Yuhao and the rest of the Sun Moon Team arrived early at the competition venue, stepping into the waiting area to await the start of the match. Of course, they would have to wait quite a while since even the audience hadn't been allowed in yet.
It wasn't that Huo Yuhao himself was particularly eager to arrive so early the real reason was that the rest of the Sun Moon Team was too excited and had been urging him to come along.
Huo Yuhao could understand their emotions. If the Sun Moon Team won the final match and claimed the championship, they would achieve an unprecedented back to back victory, leaving an indelible mark in history. Future generations of Sun Moon citizens would surely remember this accomplishment.
In the original timeline, the final match never actually took place primarily because Shrek Academy fled. Of course, whether the final match happened or not didn't really matter since both Shrek Academy and Tang Sect had made it to the finals. No matter which team won, the championship would still belong to Shrek Academy's students.
Sitting in the waiting area with nothing to do, Huo Yuhao reflected on recent events. After subduing Feng Ling, he had returned to the academy and learned from Jing Hongchen that the old Sun Moon Emperor had supposedly been assassinated by Shrek Academy and the Star Luo Empire.
To be honest, he didn't believe that Shrek Academy and the Star Luo Empire would be so foolish. If their goal was simply to escape from Mingdu, then assassinating the Sun Moon Emperor made no sense the cost benefit ratio was simply too low.
Killing him wouldn't significantly weaken the overall strength of the Sun Moon Empire, but it would provoke the wrath of the imperial family, accelerating the march toward war.
So, he strongly suspected that the Sun Moon Emperor's death had something to do with Xu Tianran.
After all, Xu Tianran was an ambitious man who viewed everyone around him as mere tools to serve his own interests. If someone became more of a liability than an asset, he would eliminate them without hesitation, no matter how close their relationship once was.
According to Jing Hongchen, the Sun Moon Empire's leadership had decided to keep the emperor's death a secret for now. To ensure the tournament proceeded smoothly and to prevent unrest, they planned to delay the official announcement until after the finals.
"Xu Tianran's rise to power is inevitable. Let him take the blame for now."
"In the future, I will seize the throne from him and collect even more faith energy. As for the Body Sect, who are still at Mingyue Hotel, I'll let them leave safely.
"After all, I still need the Body Sect to continue providing me with faith energy through the Heavenly Soul Empire. They can't be allowed to die here."
"Once the tournament is over, Xu Tianran will want to minimize losses. He won't want a direct confrontation with the Body Sect, so he'll likely try to lure them toward the Qian Kun Wen Qing Valley instead."
"If the Body Sect also enters that valley, things will become much more complicated."
With that thought, a faint golden light flickered in Huo Yuhao's eyes.
A moment later, he split off a portion of his spiritual power, creating a spiritual avatar, while Elder Yi's consciousness followed along, hiding within the Blade of Life's Vigilance.
Then, under the concealment of his Simulation soul skill, Huo Yuhao secretly left the competition venue, unnoticed by anyone.
Thanks to his exceptionally powerful spiritual force, he could operate in two perspectives simultaneously without experiencing any discomfort.
His main body remained at the competition venue, ready to lead the Sun Moon Team to victory.
Meanwhile, his spiritual avatar would first notify Juzi to relay his orders to spare the Body Sect. Then, he would contact the Body Sect and, alongside Elder Yi, head toward Qian Kun Wen Qing Valley to claim the rewards left behind by the Goddess of Love.
This wouldn't take much time with the assistance of the Plane's Will, he could travel anywhere within the Sun Moon Empire in the blink of an eye.
And if luck was on his side, he might even intercept some of Tang San's residual Sea God divine power which had been left behind to manipulate the Qian Kun Wen Qing Valley giving him the opportunity to study its nature.
If possible, he wanted to see if he could weaponize Sea God's power against Tang San or perhaps even use it to aid in forging his own godhood.
Mingyue Hotel
Du Busi, his green hair strikingly vibrant, sat with a grim expression as he addressed the assembled members of the Body Sect.
He spoke slowly:
"Shrek Academy and the Star Luo Empire have already left Mingyue Hotel I assume you all know this by now.
I may not like Shrek Academy, but I must admit they're not a bunch of brainless fools.
According to our intelligence, large numbers of Sun Moon Soul Engineer Legions have surrounded Mingdu, allowing entry but no exit. Officially, it's to hunt down fugitives, but we all know the true intentions of the Sun Moon higher ups.
The only weak point in their defenses is to the west. It seems that Shrek Academy and the Star Luo Empire must have escaped that way.
If they had tried to flee through any other direction, the Soul Engineer Legions would have swarmed them, causing a massive disturbance.
But the west is an obvious trap.
Something is wrong we have no proof that Shrek Academy truly made it out alive."
A heavy silence fell over the room.
Everyone's faces tensed with concern.
They all wanted to leave Mingdu and return safely to their sect, but now, escape seemed like a fantasy.
Even with Du Busi's protection, they felt little reassurance.
After all, Kong Deming's strength was far too terrifying he could definitely match an Ultimate Douluo.
If Du Busi made the wrong move, his efforts to shield the Body Sect disciples could backfire catastrophically.
Suddenly, a male voice echoed in Du Busi's mind:
"Master Poison, in one hour, you will be able to leave Mingdu with your sect members.
As long as you avoid the Royal Soul Engineer Legion, no other Soul Engineer forces will obstruct your escape not in Mingdu, nor anywhere else in the Sun Moon Empire.
You will be able to return to your sect safely."
Hearing this familiar voice, Du Busi was stunned.
He immediately stood up and sent a spiritual message in return:
"Elder Xiao, could it be that you and your master have slaughtered so many Soul Engineers that there's no one left to stop us?"
Huo Yuhao remained hidden, responding with a hint of exasperation:
"You seem a bit too extreme.
Just follow my instructions if you want to escape the Sun Moon Empire safely."
Earlier, he had already informed Juzi, issuing the order to allow the Body Sect to leave unscathed.
To ensure the command was carried out, he had Juzi arrange for it to be properly communicated.
