Chapter 495 - Chapter 495: Two Impostors

Chapter 495: Two Impostors

What kind of feeling was this? The Azure Bull Python and the Titan Giant Ape could feel an inescapable sense of impending doom, as if countless invisible eyes from all directions were locked onto them, ensuring there was no place to hide.

"Lord Sea God, save "

Before the two traitorous soul beasts could even finish their plea, two beams of light pierced through the void and struck them with pinpoint accuracy.

In an instant, the two soul beasts who had ascended to godhood alongside Tang San, who had become arrogant and complacent, were obliterated by the beams of light.

They were completely and utterly erased.

Their bodies, souls, and very existence were wiped out without leaving a trace not even a speck of dust remained.

Meanwhile, in the Divine Realm.

Xiao Wu suddenly felt an uneasiness creeping into her heart. She clutched her chest and muttered to herself, "Da Ming… Er Ming… What's going on? Why did I suddenly think of them? Could something have happened to them?"

"San ge! That's right, I need to find San ge!"

With urgency in her steps, she rushed toward the Divine Realm Committee.

At that very moment, inside the Divine Realm Committee, Tang San had already sensed the deaths of the Titan Giant Ape and the Azure Bull Python.

After all, those two had originally been his soul rings. Even though they had been resurrected in the Divine Realm, their master servant bond had never changed. If he wished, he could have ended their lives at any time.

He could give them life.

He could take it away.

So when they were obliterated, Tang San instantly felt it.

Realizing they had failed their mission, his expression darkened as he cursed inwardly:

"Useless trash! They couldn't even handle such a small task! What's the point of keeping them?"

"It looks like I'll have to ask Father and Mother to handle this… but just to be safe, I should give them some additional protective measures."

Clearly, in Tang San's mind, he had already ranked their importance. The difference in how he treated them was painfully obvious.

Just then, Xiao Wu's frantic voice echoed from outside.

"San ge! San ge!"

Tang San's expression immediately changed.

At that moment, he suddenly realized he had made a grave mistake.

Xiao Wu had always regarded the Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python as her brothers.

If she were to find out they had died because of the mission he had assigned them, it would be disastrous!

This must be hidden at all costs!

By the time he snapped out of his thoughts, Xiao Wu had already burst into the room.

Fortunately, the Divine Realm Committee was more than just a single meeting hall. Each God King had their own private office, so her sudden entrance did not alert the other God Kings.

"Xiao Wu, what's wrong?" Tang San asked with a gentle smile, as if he were completely unaware of the situation. His voice was as warm and caring as ever.

"I just… I suddenly had this overwhelming feeling that something happened to Da Ming and Er Ming! San ge, have they run into trouble?"

Xiao Wu's voice carried a hint of desperation. She feared the worst and clung to hope that Tang San would reassure her.

"Something happened?"

Tang San pretended to be puzzled.

He then closed his eyes, allowing divine power to radiate from his body, acting as if he were using his godly senses to investigate.

Xiao Wu watched anxiously, clenching her fists tightly, desperately hoping for a positive answer.

After a brief moment

Feeling that his performance had been convincing enough, Tang San finally opened his eyes and smiled warmly.

"Don't worry, Xiao Wu. It's just your imagination. I just checked on Da Ming and Er Ming they're both perfectly fine in the Douluo Continent."

"If you're really worried, I can bring them back to the Divine Realm right now."

Hearing his words, Xiao Wu let out a long sigh of relief.

Even though there was still an uneasiness lingering in her heart, her trust in Tang San made her choose to believe him.

When she heard that he was offering to bring them back, she shook her head and said, "No, it's fine. Xiao Qi still needs someone to look after her. Besides, Da Ming and Er Ming seem to be quite happy in the Douluo Continent, so let's not disrupt their peace."

In truth, Xiao Wu had always known that Da Ming and Er Ming were unhappy in the Divine Realm.

Even though they had gained eternal life, the entire Divine Realm was biased against soul beasts due to the Dragon God's past rebellion.

As soul beasts who had ascended to godhood, Da Ming and Er Ming had been subtly but constantly discriminated against.

Although Tang San's influence as the Asura God prevented others from openly bullying them, the silent exclusion and rejection were ever present.

That kind of invisible oppression would wear down anyone.

If Da Ming and Er Ming hadn't kept quiet to avoid burdening Xiao Wu, they would have long ago revealed their grievances.

Xiao Wu's situation wasn't much better.

Even though she was technically half a God King as the Asura Sword's scabbard, she still felt the suffocating prejudice against soul beasts in the Divine Realm.

She simply hid her pain, not wanting to trouble Tang San with it.

Seeing that Xiao Wu had completely believed his lie, Tang San secretly let out a sigh of relief.

But now, he had a new problem to solve.

Da Ming and Er Ming were completely, utterly dead.

Even their souls had been annihilated.

Reviving them was impossible.

And if Xiao Wu ever found out the truth, she would be furious.

Not only that she would realize that they had died because of his orders.

So, the truth must never come to light.

Fortunately, they had once been his soul rings, so even though they had been separated, some traces of their soul information still remained.

On its own, this soul residue wasn't enough to revive them.

But

If he could modify two similar soul beasts, erase their original consciousness, and imprint Da Ming and Er Ming's soul remnants onto them…

Then, from the outside, they would be identical copies.

A flawless deception.

They would seem like the real Da Ming and Er Ming.

But in reality

They would be nothing more than impostors.

Perfectly forged fakes with copied memories.

Their original souls would be gone forever.

Tang San made up his mind.

On the surface, he continued to gently comfort Xiao Wu.

Once she was successfully sent away, he immediately headed toward the Divine Realm's forest, where the descendants of ancient godly beasts still resided.

These creatures were permanently weakened, reduced to nothing more than mounts or livestock.

After searching, he selected a giant ape and a massive serpent.

He then erased their original souls and replaced their memories with those of the deceased Titan Giant Ape and Azure Bull Python.

After a series of modifications, the transformation was complete.

Two perfect replicas of Da Ming and Er Ming now stood before him.

Looking at these two indistinguishable impostors, Tang San nodded in satisfaction.

Now, I don't have to worry about Xiao Wu finding out the truth.
