Chapter 658 - Chapter 657: Learning to Balance

He was an excellent subordinate.

He hadn't asked about the organization in a long time. Torifu had almost forgotten he was the leader, truly neglecting matters outside his immediate concern. He had left all the responsibilities for Kakuzu to handle.

Kakuzu was delighted to hear this; the Leader was finally paying attention to them!

"It's true that none of our organization's personnel have been sacrificed yet, but many have been injured, ranging from minor to severe wounds." Kakuzu then said earnestly, "We also performed healing immediately, ensuring no lingering after-effects."

Currently, all members within the organization had been recruited by Kakuzu through various means, and a cohort of highly loyal core members had already formed. The members were all very strong, with the weakest being at the Jonin level, gathered from all corners of the world. Without Kakuzu's longevity, an ordinary person could not have accomplished such a feat.

Torifu was very satisfied with Kakuzu's response. He had admittedly shown less concern for the organization's members. The benefits were also somewhat inferior compared to the village, and he had neglected the fact that the organization's members were also risking their lives for him.

'Sigh, it looks like I need to properly learn how to balance things in the future,' he thought. Achieving perfect equality was still quite difficult. Torifu always gave the best things to the villagers, and they were the first to purchase and use all the latest inventions. The benefits provided to the Lotus Organization were almost non-existent, merely being slightly better than in other nations. Yet, they had no complaints about this and still followed Torifu with unwavering loyalty.

"Good. As long as there are no deaths, that's fine. Tell everyone to be careful and only act after confirming safety. Remember that old saying: no mission is more important than a person's life."

Kakuzu nodded. "Leader, I understand."

The two of them managed the Lotus Organization, but their thoughts on the matter were completely opposite. Kakuzu felt Torifu had already done an excellent job. The Lotus Organization was very well-funded, and the benefits were quite good. All the materials for building the base were provided by the Leader. Giving the wandering brothers a place to settle down was enough. As ninjas who had been drifting around for various reasons, there was nothing they yearned for more than having a home. Although it was just a small house, as long as they had a house and a home, life had hope and motivation. What the brothers sought was very simple, and the Leader had already fulfilled all their desires.

"Leader, is there anything else? If not, I'll go back to handling my duties."

Torifu thought for a moment, concluding there were no current matters, and nodded. "I'm fine here. You should go back to work."

The Central City was currently in an incredibly busy phase. Torifu's leisure was only possible because he had delegated his tasks to others, giving him time to rest. The three administrators had no complaints about this, feeling that the Hokage-sama had already done more than enough. Not only were the people of Konoha being taken care of, but the treatment of the other two villages was also comparable, giving no one cause for envy or jealousy.

Bored out of his mind, Torifu's clone took out his phone, skillfully logged into his Naruto game account, and prepared to play. However, he suddenly recalled that the original body was still playing, yet he had already logged in. Checking the match history, he indeed found a recently failed record.

The clone awkwardly spread his hands. "No choice, original body. Why didn't you let me know?"

Far away in Konoha, Torifu was staring at the game interface that had been logged out, a mix of thoughts swirling in his mind. After being lost in thought for five minutes, he finally decided to let it go and not argue with a clone.

Since he couldn't play the game, he could only go out for a walk.

"Big Brother! I came to ask you about something!" Dan called out from the entrance.

Torifu was just lamenting his boredom, and now someone had delivered himself right to the door.

"What is it? Is it about Tsunade?"

Dan stopped upon hearing this. "How did you know?"

Torifu tapped his head with a finger. "In that head of yours, is there anything other than work and Tsunade?"

Dan scratched his head awkwardly. "It seems there really isn't."

"Tsunade and the others have arrived at the Rain Province Central City. They have already started their intense and exciting work. Don't worry, Tsunade is doing treatment inside the city and won't be in any danger."

"That's good. Knowing Tsunade's situation is enough to set my mind at ease."

Dan really just wanted to know what Tsunade was doing. He was very clear about Tsunade's strength and understood that she would be in no danger even if she left the city on a mission. The reason he came to ask Torifu was simply to know his wife's current status.

"Alright, alright! Do you have anything else? If not, get going. I'm going out for a walk on the street."

After saying two more sentences, Dan quickly left the entrance to the Kumotsuru Clan's Hidden Land. Torifu didn't even clearly hear what he said, but it didn't matter. It certainly wasn't anything important.

Inside Konoha, things were as usual. The village broadcasted accurate real-time news from the Rain Province every day. Whether they were defeated or victorious, the villagers were informed immediately. Torifu had set this up precisely so the people in the village wouldn't worry too much about their family members. The Rain Province was quite safe at the moment.

Torifu walked aimlessly and leisurely down the main street. Seeing that the surrounding villagers were all going about their lives as usual, Torifu felt much more at ease. What annoyed him most were troublesome matters, especially those that involved a great many people. He just wanted to live a quiet life in Konoha, yet all kinds of trouble constantly found him. He had clearly done his best to transform Konoha into a place he found comfortable, yet he couldn't peacefully enjoy any of it. This made Torifu feel extremely disgruntled, which was also the reason why he intended to confront the person behind the scenes alone. So many years of resentment had been building up in his heart; this time, he was determined to let it all out.

As he walked, he came to the front of the Hokage Tower. Since he was already here, he naturally wanted to go up and take a look. Amado should be there now. He wondered how Amado and Anka were getting along and if their relationship had improved.

When he reached the office door, he heard Amado and Anka talking cheerfully and laughing inside. Torifu listened closely for a while; it seemed they were discussing work-related matters. He coughed twice, then pushed open the office door.

Upon entering, he saw the puppet diligently handling official duties, while Amado and Anka were sitting on opposite sides of the room, several meters apart. They were just staring at each other from a distance.

"What were you two chatting about? You sounded so cheerful."
