All the anger of Andrew hushed out of him, and his gaze softened as he listened to Isabella's explanation and stared at Isabella's vulnerable state. His chest became heavy, and a lump formed in his throat as all the words of hers hit him in the chest.
Andrew could feel the fear Isabella had gone through at that time through her voice. He could sense the desperation she had felt at that time to make that decision. He finally understood the reason that drove her to the underworld.
Right after their parents' death, especially after they learned that Isabella was pregnant, nothing mattered to Andrew other than keeping Isabella and his two unborn niblings safe. He wanted to gain power and get ahold of the underworld as soon as possible to keep them protected and get to Matthew.
So, he did everything without caring about himself to gain power. Because without it, he feared they would be taken away from him like his parents. He pushed past his limit. And he lived only for them.
