Chapter 437: Replacing the God of Destruction?
Beerus looked toward Vegeta, who was clenching his fists and grinding his teeth. "You want to challenge me too?"
His tail flicked lightly.
In that instant, Vegeta nearly wet himself.
He had indeed felt the impulse to test Beerus's power—but that was before he actually saw Beerus fight.
That impulse still lingered, but reason had already taken over, cooling his battle fervor.
He couldn't even be sure he could defeat Goku at full strength—how could he possibly dare dream of fighting Beerus?
Seeing Vegeta stay silent, Beerus withdrew his gaze.
Everyone thought he was about to leave, but to their surprise, Beerus suddenly turned to look at Uchiha Dali.
Their eyes met, and Beerus was the first to speak. "I heard what that guy said just now. When he mentioned someone 'as strong as me,' he was looking at you."
When Goku had said those words before being instantly defeated, Beerus had seemed indifferent—but in truth, he had paid close attention.
He had been watching Uchiha Dali for quite some time.
"I am Uchiha Dali, Supreme God of the lower dimension, Lord Beerus."
Uchiha Dali introduced himself.
The moment he said he was a god, Piccolo, Vegeta, Yamcha, Tien, and the others all widened their eyes again.
"He—he's also… a god?"
"No wonder he's so strong!"
"A god from a lower dimension? What does that even mean?"
"..."
Of course, no one bothered answering the confused spectators.
Whis, however, observed Uchiha Dali with keen interest.
Beerus's tail twitched up and down. "A lesser god, huh?"
"I've heard you possess power on par with mine?"
Though Beerus spoke casually, he had already turned fully to face Uchiha Dali.
Judging from that posture, this was clearly not going to end peacefully.
At that moment, Whis interjected with a warning: "Lord Beerus, you know gods are not allowed to duel each other lightly."
"As long as we don't go all out, it won't cause too much damage to this universe," Beerus replied.
Then he turned back to Uchiha Dali. "So? Want to have a match?"
Before Uchiha Dali could answer, Whis added again, "Lord Beerus, the power between you two is far too great. Even a slight clash could completely obliterate this area. The entire galaxy might cease to exist."
Hearing that—and noticing Uchiha Dali hadn't responded—Beerus raised his head proudly, closed his eyes, and flicked his tail dismissively. "In that case, forget it. Let's go, Whis."
"Wait."
Just as Beerus began to turn, Uchiha Dali called out to stop him.
"Hm?"
Both Beerus and Whis looked at him in surprise.
"I also want to see how big the gap really is between myself and a God of Destruction from a higher dimension."
Uchiha Dali smiled as he spoke.
That instantly caught Beerus's interest.
He, too, wanted to know whether this so-called lower-dimensional god was truly as powerful as Whis claimed.
But Uchiha Dali's words made Whis frown slightly.
He cautioned, "Uchiha Dali, lower gods are not permitted to challenge higher ones—unless you intend to replace Lord Beerus."
"To replace Lord Beerus…"
"Replace me??"
Uchiha Dali and Beerus locked eyes—one puzzled, the other surprised.
But the next moment, Beerus's expression darkened.
"You want to take my place? Then you'd better prove you have the power to do so."
Uchiha Dali's very existence already made him feel threatened.
A god from a lower dimension had no rightful place here.
If someone like him were to be added to the divine hierarchy of this universe, that would mean one of the existing gods would have to step down.
Whis's remark had completely ignited Beerus's fighting spirit.
Besides, the Oracle Fish had once foretold that Beerus's greatest rival—aside from the Super Saiyan God—would be someone named Uchiha Dali.
And here he was, standing right before him.
Beerus stared at Uchiha Dali with a predator's gaze.
Feeling his hostility, Uchiha Dali also grew serious.
"In that case, let's keep this friendly, Lord Beerus."
He maintained the humility befitting a deity from a lower realm.
Beerus clasped his hands behind his back and crooked a finger at him. "Come."
As soon as the words fell, both their bodies rose slowly into the air.
Everyone on the ground watched them ascend into the clouds, their faces tense with apprehension.
To avoid causing destruction to Earth, Beerus and Uchiha Dali wordlessly chose to continue their battle in outer space.
In the void of the cosmos, the two gods faced each other.
"Make your move," Beerus said.
"Then, I won't hold back, Lord Beerus."
With that, Uchiha Dali raised his hand and unleashed an Eighty Thousandfold Divine Sky Strike.
In an instant, countless fists and palms appeared, surging from every direction toward Beerus.
Each strike carried destructive force powerful enough to annihilate stars—or even entire galaxies.
And at this moment, they sealed off every possible route of retreat for Beerus.
As a God of Destruction, Beerus recognized the deadly nature of the attack at a glance; his expression changed slightly.
"You've also mastered the Power of Destruction?"
Exclaiming in shock, he simultaneously launched his counterattack.
He raised his hand, and a massive sphere of purple-black energy of destruction formed in his palm. The sphere rapidly expanded into a huge, planet-sized orb.
"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"
Uchiha Dali's attack collided with Beerus's destructive energy, and the universe trembled violently. Cracks split through space itself—rifts leading down to the lower dimension.
They were the very pathways through which Uchiha Dali had arrived.
Fortunately, their destructive powers were evenly matched. After clashing for a moment, the two forces canceled each other out and dissipated. Otherwise, the resulting shockwave would have wiped out not only the lower dimension but even this galaxy itself.
Seeing his supposedly invincible destructive power effortlessly neutralized, Beerus's expression turned more serious than ever.
"As expected of the Supreme God of the lower dimension—your power truly is formidable."
"But defeating me? You're still not quite there."
With a cold snort, Beerus raised his hand again and hurled another massive orb of purple-black energy straight toward Uchiha Dali.
This time, instead of meeting it head-on, Uchiha Dali suddenly had an idea. He didn't block; instead, he activated his divine technique—Transcendent Devouring and Refinement.
He was curious to see whether this technique could also absorb and refine the mightiest destructive energy of a higher dimension—and turn it into his own power.
If it worked… he'd hit the jackpot!
