*Chirp… chirp…*
The soft sound of birds outside the window slipped through the half-closed curtains along with the first rays of morning sunlight. Warm light painted gentle stripes across the bed and across our tangled bodies.
"Arghm…" I groaned quietly in my sleep. A deep, comfortable warmth already covered my skin, especially on my face where it rested against something solid and familiar.
"Good morning, beautiful." Ezra's voice came low and a little rough from sleep. At the same time his fingers began tracing slow paths up and down my bare back.
"Uhm…" I slowly opened my eyes. My cheek was still pressed against his naked chest. For a second I just stayed there, listening to the steady beat of his heart under my ear.
I lifted my head just enough to look at him with drowsy eyes. "Why are you awake so early?"
