Chapter 844 - Chapter 840: Legally Blonde

Medical Center. Green Clinic.

After sending William packing in shame, Adam got a call from Leonard and swung by to pick up a case file for a heart surgery.

It was Leonard's patient.

He wanted Adam to join in on the action.

"Thanks, Dad!"

Rachel's second sister, Amy, grabbed the fresh check Leonard had just written, planted a kiss on his cheek, and waved it smugly at Adam as he walked in. Then she strutted out in her heels.

"Ugh."

Leonard let out a helpless sigh.

"Amy got some new project going on?" Adam asked with a grin.

"Don't even get me started," Leonard said, shaking his head with a wry smile. "I used to think Rachel would be the daughter giving me the most headaches. Then I thought it was Amy. Then Jill for a bit. But now? I've finally realized it's still Amy who's the biggest pain!" 😅

"She'll figure it out eventually," Adam said reassuringly. "Look at Rachel now—thriving career, happy family."

"But Amy's already in her mid-twenties!" Leonard grumbled. "Rachel graduated college at 22, ran off from her wedding, and sure, it took a few years, but by Amy's age, she was standing on her own two feet, growing up. Does Amy show any sign of that? She's never even had a job!"

"As long as she's not causing major trouble, it's all good," Adam said, chuckling. "Being a rich kid for life isn't the worst gig."

"Fingers crossed," Leonard said with a nod. "I hear Rachel's throwing a big first-birthday bash for Emma. You going?"

"Obviously," Adam said, shrugging. "If I don't show, I'm 100% sure Rachel will drag Emma to the hospital to chew me out for being a lousy godfather."

"Heh," Leonard laughed. "You young folks should hang out more. With your skills, you don't need to be cooped up in the hospital every day anymore."

"I love being at the hospital—saving lives is my jam," Adam said with a smile. "Oh, how's Jill doing in LA? She's graduating soon, right?"

"Yup," Leonard said, a little smile creeping onto his face. "Next May. I didn't have high hopes for her at first, but she's actually doing pretty well. Way better than Amy, at least."

"She's got that fashion knack, just like Rachel," Adam praised. "But she's smarter about it—she knew her strengths and went straight for fashion buying.

Rachel? She started with psychology, then switched majors because parking was a hassle, took the scenic route, and only then landed in fashion buying.

If Rachel had Jill's vision, she'd probably be running Ralph Lauren by now."

"Jill and Amy both love copying Rachel," Leonard said, his grin growing. "Amy just picks up her flaws, while Jill takes the good and the bad—and then adds her own spin.

In the fashion buying program at LA University, she's acing every class.

When it's something she's into, she can memorize hundreds of details in a flash—like your HD photographic memory. Her professors say she's a natural.

She's even president of her school's Delta Sorority, refereed a wet t-shirt contest…"

Adam smiled and nodded as Leonard beamed, rattling off his youngest daughter Jill's achievements like a proud dad. Right now, Leonard just needed someone to grin and agree.

But Jill really had changed.

Emmm.

Sorority life sure shapes you!

Ever since Jill won the presidency of the Delta Sorority at LA University last year, she's still living off the family dime, but she's not blowing it on dumb stuff like buying sailboats for her friends anymore.

She's actually growing up a bit.

With her talent and training in fashion buying, she might outshine her big sister Rachel right after graduation.

"Oh, and thanks for getting her that Bruce," Leonard added with a laugh. "Ever since she started taking care of him, she's actually shown some responsibility."

"…As long as she likes it," Adam said, his mouth twitching.

Last year, when Jill became sorority president, Adam—being tight with the Green family—had to send a gift.

Not the sports car she'd been dreaming of, though.

After Jill totaled Leonard's new car last time, Adam made a deal: no screw-ups or lectures from Leonard for a year, and he'd buy her that car.

Predictably, she saved him the cash.

Instead, he got her a fancy Chihuahua—cost a cool ten grand.

Jill adored it, treated it like gold, and took it everywhere.

No biggie there.

It's nice when someone loves your gift that much.

Unlike Rachel, who'd return his presents the next day for cash to buy whatever she wanted. So picky!

But what got Adam squirming was that Jill named the pup "Bruce."

His first thought? He misheard it as "Bruiser" (soul-level translation glitch). 😬

"For Emma's first birthday next month, I wonder if she'll bring her boyfriend," Leonard muttered. "Adam, you know the Huntingtons? Five generations of senators. I'm worried he's just messing around with Jill…"

"No need to stress," Adam said with a grin. "Jill's amazing. If this guy doesn't see that, it's his loss.

Besides, a senator family? Big deal. We're not exactly slouches! Jill's from a medical dynasty too!"

"Right, right!" Leonard said, comforted.

He'd clawed his way up from nothing to where he was—hardly a "medical dynasty."

But Adam was basically family now, throwing himself into the Green clan as their medical heir and Jill's honorary big brother. That kinda made it count.

Plus, with Adam's achievements and billionaire status, the Green "medical dynasty" wasn't far off from the Huntington senator legacy.

Everyone knows in this TV-drama world, billionaires run the show! 💪

"Next time he's around, Adam, come with me to size him up," Leonard said, shaking his head. "Jill's head-over-heels, ready to marry him tomorrow. I'm just worried she'll end up heartbroken.

You know those law types—dirty hearts, the lot of them.

Word is, this Warner Huntington's graduating next year, heading to Harvard Law, aiming to be a lawyer, then leap to senator. It's their family tradition."

"Nobody's irreplaceable," Adam said with a laugh. "Heartbreak's just part of growing up. Rachel ran from her wedding, cried it out, and look at her now—better off for it.

You said Jill learns from Rachel's highs and lows, then levels up.

If this Warner's legit, cool.

If not? Maybe after some tears, Jill pulls off a stunning glow-up.

Who knows? The Green family's pride might just end up being Jill!"

"Hahaha!" Leonard cracked up.

He'd started seeing Jill in a new light, but her being the family's pride? That was too wild—he'd need a heart check to handle that!

All he wanted was for her not to turn out like Amy. If she could be like Rachel, he'd be thrilled.

Jill as the pride of the Greens? Too surreal.
