Chapter 25 - Action I

Blood was pumping fast, and just like a broken clock, the D-class were acting the part. They were very erratic, fitting for people who were strapped and destined to die. The response was obvious but also surprising, considering how many law enforcement and other agents have died.

The very armed people were the very scared people. Imagine having to show up to work knowing a metric ton of your coworkers are dead, and you are next if you keep showing up; the money isn't worth it anymore. They still showed up armed because if they don't show up, they will die a different way. The law enforcement themselves were there for looks, really.

The Mall was thick with fear; you could cut it with a knife. Some "brave" people tried to do something, and they failed. The failure ensured no one tried anything funny. The D-class, on their part, were being extremely cooperative, considering their death sentences, you'd expect them to be more wild, but they were acting cordial, mixed with pure intimidation. The mall's layout was in the shape of a plus; the D-class and everyone inside were holed up near an entrance at the tip of the plus. They are inside the largest store, so everyone can fit. As for the bomb, it is located inside a closed store on the east side of the mall.

The people on the scene don't know where exactly the hostages are, but they could assume it's probably the large store, as many people were taken, and unless they are in the middle of the hall, they would probably be located in the big store. With that assumption, they moved near the store and started trying to probe for a response.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" The response came swiftly

"Yes! We are here!" The person who said this was not one of the hostages, but one of the D-class. From this point on, they had no specific instructions other than the objective being to ask for the black killer thing; they died.

When the probing worked, the agent reported it to command and awaited orders. As for the people in command, they were arguing, and the heat was rising within the argument; each one of them wanted to try different approaches, but it was ultimately useless talk as they had nothing other than the probable location.

"Is everyone being held hostage here?" He asked with a whisper; he didn't ask the crucial question of who he was talking to, he just assumed, big mistake. The lack of any windows didn't help either.

"No, some of us were taken away." The D-class whispered and cracked his voice. He was having fun now; it reminded him of his first victim and how he led her to a false sense of knowing, before he committed the crime. The hostages wanted to speak up, but were too afraid to and let not a peep out.

The agent had not lost all reason, however, he didnt completely trust the information, because he could not confirm the person talking was not a hostage. If they were to take those words as real, then they couldn't breach. He stopped thinking about it and instead passed it to his superiors while he waited for their orders.

At this moment, a different kind of game of negotiating was going down; the skyscraper had been in chaos moments before due to the bomb threat, but after the D-class confirmed they didnt plan to harm then they all left, and only they were left. The MTF were also there, but they were hiding, far away, waiting until the D-class did as they were told, and they could click the button to end their life.

The D-class were a dam as they spilled things about their life, the cells they were held in, and now what they were forced to do. They were very aware of their death, and they wanted to extend their life a bit longer; they kept on rambling like a machine gun, random things. The people on the scene there were trying to reassure them and trying to calm them down.

Eventually, the D-class said what they were supposed to, and were injected with the cyanide; they collapsed on the ground and started convulsing. At that exact moment, the paramedics who had been called in earlier rushed in, but the way they were injected and where they were injected ensured they wouldn't live to see another day. The sight was grim as they foamed from their mouths and spasmed on the ground, while gurgling screams sometimes made it out of their mouths.

The MTF, after confirming they were all impossible to save, moved out and made their way to the cars to follow the bomb as it was inevitably moved. The bombs were not timed; they would be if an EMP disabled the wireless transmitter from the MTF. The bomb in the skyscraper is the one that is to be detonated, but it was a detonation that had to happen somewhere in particular.

[With the girl]

A lot of people were going in and out fast. She had noticed that first, followed by the things they mentioned. SHEILD was in a hurry to get things sorted and finally get some answers from the D-class, the only people they know have been in their clutches and know a bit about them. The skyscraper incident made it clear their position, but that meant they could have more information, as they were seen as already dead anyway.

Seeing the commotion, she decided it was time to release 280 and free herself from the grasp of the government. She is constantly "guarded" by 2 agents when out and about; they won't be a problem to take out, but Fury is a cunning man, so she didn't believe he would let her roam that easily. She had asked the system questions relating to Marvel, but it had answered none; it only answered questions about anomalies and the many other groups. She had to make a move soon, otherwise a chance would never come again.

She returned to her room and started the decision process. She ultimately decided to go fast. She stood up from her bed and began her escape. She opened the door, and before the guards could do anything, she snatched the knives using her reality-bending from their pockets and stabbed them into their necks as she dragged them into her room and closed the door behind her. She then made herself invisible by making light go through her. She hurriedly made her way to where 280 was being kept, as alarms sounded and red lights shone; they had found the bodies.

She wasted no time and forced her way into the chamber; she forced the guns out of the guard's hands, and pointed them at them as she pulled the trigger for all of them. They all jerked back and collapsed into wisps of blood that quickly turned into a puddle. She then released 280 by creating a hole in the wall. After seeing 280 escape, she escaped the normal way, encountering trouble when she forgot to remove her heat signatures. Blood shimmered on the floor, and agents' corpses were strewn around like Halloween decorations. Some had missing pieces of them as they were killed, 280 others were mashed down into juice by the girl.

The girl was a real sociopath; she didn't hesitate as she compressed people. Maybe the Serpent's Hand won't be the traditional one. The massacre inside the base was disgusting, and the cleaning crew would really have it tough getting all the liquid out.

Nick Fury, hearing of the escape, was angry but had prepared for this, as the base she was kept in, as well as 280, was in open space, making it easy to spot both of them, or at least it was until the reports of the girl removing her heat signatures and going invisible. Only 280 could be seen rapidly making its way to the nearest human. Unbeknownst to them all, 280 was following the girl trying to kill her, but she was going as fast as she could with the powers to the nearest town or city, trying to get 280 of her tail.

Quinjets were sent to follow 280 as Fury tried to think of something to get 280 back under control. Little did he know he was going to get hit with more bad news, from the Mall of all places.
