Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: I'm healed

After feeding Nyx the medicine, Lin Qiye withdrew from his mind and gradually sank into a dream.

This time, he didn't have that tiring dream of knocking on doors anymore. Ever since the Gods Mental Hospital merged with him, he seemed to have completely broken free from the shackles of that dream and had a real dream.

He had a wonderful dream. He dreamt that he got into university, achieved success in his career, and moved into a big house with his aunt and Yang Jin. He dreamt that the three of them could finally travel and see the mountains and rivers they had only seen on TV...

Because of his previous physical disability and the fact that his family was already struggling financially, Lin Qiye had never even left Cangnan City in the past seventeen years, let alone traveled.

Deep down, he still yearns for the outside world.

When the alarm clock rang, Lin Qiye reluctantly got out of bed, changed his clothes, and prepared to go to school.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw his aunt hurriedly changing her shoes at the door, preparing to go out.

"Auntie, why are you going to work so early?"

"A new batch of parts has arrived at the factory, and we need to process them quickly. Auntie is leaving now. You continue having breakfast with your brother, and remember not to be late!" Auntie muttered.

"I will!"

Just as his aunt was about to close the door, Lin Qiye spoke again.

"Auntie."

"What's wrong?"Aunt stopped and looked at Lin Qiye with a puzzled expression.

"N-nothing...it's nothing." Lin Qiye hesitated for a moment, then shook his head, a smile appearing on his lips. "When you come back, I'll tell you some good news."

His aunt looked at him suspiciously for a few moments, then chuckled and scolded, "This child, still trying to play riddles with me? Alright, Auntie's in a hurry now, tell me tonight!"

After saying that, she hurriedly closed the door and ran downstairs.

Lin Qiye stood silently at the door, head down, lost in thought...

Suddenly, he abruptly raised his head, as if he had made up his mind, and opened the door while still wearing his slippers!

He stood at the entrance of the building and shouted downstairs!

"Auntie! I can see now!!"

The next moment, Lin Qiye heard the clattering sound downstairs suddenly stop, and then his aunt's voice came up tremblingly from the fifth floor below.

"You, say that again?!"

"I can see again! I'm all better, Auntie!"

After a brief pause, a more hurried sound of people going upstairs came from below, and soon, Lin Qiye's aunt, panting heavily, stood in front of him.

Her lips trembled slightly, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up in a smile...

"You can see it now? Really?"

"Yes!"

"Is it blurry? Is there double vision? Does it hurt? Does it sting when exposed to light?"

"No, no, Auntie." Lin Qiye's lips curled up as she reached out and removed the black satin covering her eyes, slowly opening them to reveal a pair of exceptionally beautiful eyes. "I'm really healed, Auntie."

Aunt stared blankly into those eyes, tears welling up uncontrollably from her eyes!

She smiled, and the wrinkles on her face bloomed like flowers. In her forties, she smiled like a child.

In ten years, Lin Qiye had never seen her smile like that.

Aunt hugged Lin Qiye, and Lin Qiye could clearly feel her body trembling slightly.

"Good, good... Our little Qi has finally made it through!" Auntie let go of Lin Qiye, wiped away her tears, and said with a smile, "Little Qi, Auntie has to go to work now. When Auntie comes back tonight, I'll buy extra groceries; we must have a proper celebration!"

"Thank you, Auntie."

"Well, Auntie's going now. You go to school and have a good day."

"Mm!"

Auntie walked quickly down the stairs, tears still streaming down her face uncontrollably. She wiped her face and her steps were lighter than ever before.

Lin Qiye watched his aunt leave, then turned and went into the house with red eyes.

In fact, he originally wanted to wait until his aunt came home that evening before formally announcing the news, but then he thought that people who set up such flags in movies usually don't have a good ending...

He didn't want anything to happen to his aunt, and even if it was just some inexplicable metaphysical logic, he was unwilling to take the risk.

So, he simply pulled out the flag, tore it up, and threw it into the Pacific Ocean.

As soon as Lin Qiye turned around, he saw Yang Jin standing behind him, holding the little black toad, his eyes red.

The two brothers stared at each other for two seconds, then burst out laughing at the same time.

"Brother, congratulations."

"Well, now the sunglasses you gave me can finally come in handy," Lin Qiye said with a light laugh, stroking Yang Jin's head.

"Let's eat, bro. We'll have a nice meal when Auntie and Xiao Chen comes back tonight."

"Okay!"

The little black toad peeked its head out from Yang Jin's arms and licked Lin Qiye's hand, "Woof—!"

...

No. 2 Middle School.

When Lin Qiye walked into the classroom, the whole class immediately fell silent.

After staring at each other in confusion for a while, one of the students tentatively spoke up:

"You are... Lin Qiye?"

Lin Qiye, having removed the black satin, raised his eyebrows and nodded slightly.

After a brief silence, the classroom erupted in noise again, and the discussion became even more heated than before!

"Is his eye better?"

"He's definitely better now, he can see things again!"

"His eyes are so beautiful!"

"Yeah, yeah, how come I never noticed before? He's actually so handsome..."

The way the girls looked at Lin Qiye changed. They huddled together, muttering something, their eyes glancing at Lin Qiye every now and then.

The boys who were close to Lin Qiye also gathered around him and asked him a bunch of questions about his eyes. When they confirmed that Lin Qiye had indeed recovered, they were all incredibly surprised.

"I could see all along, but my eyes couldn't be exposed to light. I went to the hospital yesterday and it's been fine ever since," Lin Qiye replied. The classmate then remembered that Lin Qiye had indeed missed a day yesterday, and suddenly realized what had happened.

In this noisy classroom, only two people stood out from the crowd.

Liu Yuan stood in the corner with his head down, glancing at Lin Qiye out of the corner of his eye, his face extremely embarrassed.

He clearly remembered that he was busy escaping that day and bumped into Lin Qiye. After escaping, he felt that Lin Qiye, being blind, had no chance of escaping from the monster. Although he felt guilty for a while, he didn't take it too seriously.

To his surprise, it was Jiang Qian who died, while Lin Qiye, whom he least expected to succeed... actually survived!

And my eyes are better now!For a moment, Liu Yuan couldn't quite describe his feelings. Was it embarrassment? Guilt? Frustration? Or... regret?Although Lin Qiye had his back to Liu Yuan, he could clearly see the other's wonderful changes in expression through his mental perception, and his eyes gradually narrowed.

Just then, another person walked up to Lin Qiye.

Li Yifei stood awkwardly beside Lin Qiye's table, looking around nervously before leaning down and whispering in Lin Qiye's ear:

"Seven Nights... um... could you come out with me for a moment? I have something I want to say."

Lin Qiye hesitated only slightly before nodding.
