Because what appeared before him barely resembled the lean spirit rat he once knew.
Chitterfang had become enormous.
Not large in the terrifying beast sense.

Round.
Absurdly round.
The creature now resembled a giant fuzzy ball with tiny limbs attached underneath it. His originally grey fur had changed dramatically over the years due to constant exposure to Blood Qi and various spirit resources it consume.
