In the World of Ignorance, Dragon Tail City once again became stagnant, like a painting suddenly struck by an immobilization spell.
The city's lights should have flowed like the Milky Way, yet at this moment, they were eerily frozen. The red lanterns hanging from the restaurant eaves maintained their wind-swayed arcs, the candle flames inside solidifying into round amber-like orbs, no longer flickering. The horn lanterns carried by street vendors resembled fireflies encased in ice, casting stiff halos.
The signs on both sides of the long street were enveloped in deathly silence, even the folds of the wine banners were unnaturally suspended in mid-air. The street was abnormally dark, not due to the absence of light, but because all the brightness had lost its vibrancy.
The dusk was as thick as ink, spreading from the eaves' corners and deep alleys, engulfing the distant street scenes layer by layer, with the long street extending endlessly into the dark depths.
