Just then, Sophia Wood had just seen off Isla Lane and Charlotte Shaw and returned to the restaurant. Earlier, she was thinking she would quietly ask Alice Turner about her situation after dinner.
But as soon as she got back, she heard her daughter mention she had plans for the evening, and she couldn't hold it in any longer, striding over to take her seat.
"You're not allowed to see Benjamin Shaw tonight."
Sophia was just about to ask something when Christopher Turner spoke first with an absolute assertiveness, leaving no room for negotiation.
Hearing her dad's overbearing command, Alice Turner furrowed her brows sharply, but unlike before, she didn't confront him directly. Instead, she softened her tone and attitude, "There are some things I have to clarify with him. I don't want to be entangled with him."
