"M-My poor master!" Bil said in a sad, exaggerated tone, placing his right hand on his chest dramatically.
Seeing him act so over-the-top, Gwen and the others standing nearby looked at him with completely blank expressions, unsure whether to be annoyed or amused.
"Huh… leave him and let's go down there," Gwen suggested calmly as she continued, "The fight is over."
Hearing her words, Liz and Mary nodded in agreement, taking May, Gale, and Madeline along with them, each of them carrying one person in their arms. Just as they landed on the ground below, Rose also arrived. After giving the injured priests healing pills, she made sure they safely left the area. Only after confirming that did she decide to return to the others.
"Argh! Hey man, be gentle!" Bilnard shouted in a pitiful voice as his domineering attitude from their first meeting vanished completely. "Okay! I admit defeat!"
That single statement shocked Rias, Rose, and Bil—who had also arrived by then— completely. They already knew that he had been defeated, but to actually admit it out loud was something they never thought possible.
In their eyes, Bilnard's pride and ego would never allow him to admit defeat, and in this belief, Bil was included as well. He had been serving Bilnard for a very long time, and the one thing he knew about his master was that he never acknowledged loss. Well, that belief had just been proven wrong right in front of him.
Hearing Bilnard's words, Peter walked toward him. "That was a fantastic fight," he said with a genuine smile as he extended his hand to help Bilnard stand up. "You are a great fighter."
At the start, the fight had begun purely out of anger, but the longer it continued, the more it changed for Peter. Soon, he began to enjoy it, to the point that both he and Bilnard completely forgot the original reason the fight had started, focusing instead on testing their limits against each other.
Seeing Peter's outstretched hand and hearing his sincere praise, Bilnard smiled back. "Haah, I thought you were going to punch me again," he replied as he grabbed Peter's hand and stood up. "That said, I really enjoyed our fight, and…" After saying this, he turned his gaze toward May, who looked confused, not understanding why he was suddenly staring at her.
This time, Peter didn't interrupt and simply waited for Bilnard to finish his sentence.
"Sorry for saying those words back then. I might have scared you a little. I hope you will forgive me."
"What!"
"M-My master is apologizing! Is this a dream?!"
"This is surprising!"
Rias, Bil and Rose exclaimed loudly with their mouths hanging open. First, Bilnard had admitted defeat, and now he was apologizing for his actions. All of this was far too shocking for them to process easily.
"Huh! Oh, i-it's alright. I forgive you," May replied after a moment, doing what she believed was the right thing. After all, forgiving someone was the greatest act one could do. According to her, some people were worthy of a second chance.
"Haah, thanks." Saying this, Bilnard shifted his attention back to Peter. "Let's fight again sometime… but next time, in my world, at Nightingale," he said as he raised his hand for a handshake.
"Of course. I will be there very soon." Peter took his hand firmly, answering with confidence, and this time both of them smiled at each other sincerely.
This moment would forever be remembered in the future as the beginning of a friendship that would become a role model for many. But that was a story for future chapters.
"Let's go, Bil," Bilnard declared. "We've already caused them enough trouble. It's time we take our leave."
"Well said, my master," Bil replied respectfully as he bowed. He then ordered everyone who had come with them to leave, and soon enough, both he and Bilnard disappeared, surrounded by thick black clouds that swallowed them completely.
"What was that power? Is it some kind of technique?" Peter asked, clearly fascinated.
"That's a power all vampires unlock after reaching the age of three hundred years," Rias explained. "It allows them to teleport over long distances with ease."
"So that means Bilnard is three hundred years old."
"No, he's at least five hundred years old… well, that's what I think," Rias replied thoughtfully.
"I see." After saying this, Peter turned around to face May and the others. "Are you all alright?"
Before anyone else could speak, May hurried forward and hugged him tightly.
"I'm glad you're okay."
Hearing her words, Peter smiled lovingly and hugged her back gently. "I guess I worried you all." This time, he looked at Gwen, Mary, Liz, Gale, and Madeline. "I apologize."
"Humph~ Apology accepted," Gwen replied confidently.
"Only if you meet my parents," Liz added with a grin.
"At least do things after telling us beforehand," Mary suggested seriously.
Hearing the girls' words, Madeline smiled in quiet amusement, while Gale kept staring at Peter with thoughts that probably shouldn't be appearing in a girl her age… well, that depended on the person.
"Alright, let's move to a different and safer place," Rias suggested. "Those up there will be coming down soon, and I don't think you want to deal with them."
Her words confused Gale, Madeline, and May, as they couldn't see anything in the sky above.
"Who are they?" Liz asked. She, Mary, and Gwen had sensed something floating in the sky a long time ago but didn't act since the other party hadn't done anything hostile.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.," Peter answered as he looked toward the sky, focusing on the exact spot where the helicarrier was floating. He could see it clearly; his vision had evolved to such a high level that he could perceive things invisible to others.
Rias was also able to see it because of her Blood Vision, which allowed her to see beings that carried blood—meaning humans—but it didn't work on humans stronger than her or those who weren't human at all.
While all this was happening Reiran was listening everything with a calm but relieved look. She was just happy that her master was completely fine, and that's all she wanted, nothing else matters to her than her master.
"Where?" May asked this time, finally breaking the hug.
"I know a perfect place," Rias said with a smile appearing on her face. "Rose, teleport us there." She turned toward Rose.
"Alright," Rose replied as she raised both her hands and began chanting something in an unknown language. Soon, a huge bright red magic circle appeared beneath them, and with a blinding flash of light, they vanished from the area completely.
