I could feel the difference between what the two Demigods were doing. Their Authorities were constantly colliding, interfering with and countering one another, yet what I was witnessing was nothing like the interaction between ordinary Laws or Domains. Their powers seemed to produce absolute changes in whatever they touched, altering the very nature of reality around them.
Klaus's Authority was particularly terrifying. His intention was simple: to burn everything. Wherever his flames passed, space itself began to erode, and even the surrounding Laws were consumed and stripped away until nothing remained except the influence of his Authority. It was as though anything touched by his flames gradually ceased to belong to the original world and became subject to Klaus alone.
