I closed my eyes for a moment and extended my perception through the surrounding Soul Sea. The answer quickly became clear. His strength itself was no longer enough to concern me. Verilux was only a Peak Saint, and after the transformation of my foundation, the difference between our individual strengths had become enormous.
But this wasn't an ordinary battle.
Verilux's existence was deeply connected to the Soul Sea.
As long as that connection remained intact, destroying his physical body was insufficient to truly kill him. The Soul Sea itself continued feeding his existence, allowing his shattered body and soul to regenerate from the surrounding energy.
I slowly exhaled.
"So that's how it is."
I looked across the darkened Soul Sea.
"I can overpower you."
My eyes narrowed.
"But killing you is another matter entirely."
