Except the origin energy readings coming from beyond that wall had been extraordinary.
So they'd started digging.
It had taken three years to create an opening large enough to squeeze through. Three years of careful work with origin-enhanced tools, removing stone inch by inch, maintaining structural integrity while creating access to whatever lay beyond.
What lay beyond was a chamber.
Massive. Far larger than natural cave formation could explain. The ceiling rose perhaps a hundred feet, supported by pillars of stone that showed marks of deliberate shaping. The floor was level in ways that random erosion never produced.
And at the far end of the chamber stood the Wall.
Not natural stone. Constructed. Massive blocks fitted together with precision that suggested origin energy manipulation at a scale the modern world rarely attempted. Each block was easily ten feet on a side, stacked from floor to ceiling in a barrier that sealed off the chamber's far section.
