"No, it wasn't him" Evelynn explained as she approached Matthew and she once again tapped into her connection with Dandelion.
Connecting her mind to Dandelion's, she could feel her mental state relaxing as she calmed down. She had been surprised when Matthew suddenly stormed in and Darius had pulled her behind him. Now, she could feel her pulse going back to normal.
Seeing Matthews' skeptic gaze, seemingly not fully believing that Darius was uninvolved with Mason being lured away, Evelynn told him what had happened.
Evelynn quickly explained the situation with her parents and the conversation she had had with Darius to Matthew. After that, she belatedly introduced the two men to each other before their small group left for the banquet hall together.
They had been away from the banquet for too long, after all.
