Leofric ignored him and kept adding, "But some of them eventually started thinking about it. That was enough for me. I didn't need the entire village to stop believing in the Moon Goddess overnight. I only needed a few people to question something they had believed their entire lives."
Primrose stared at him as she slowly understood what he had been trying to do. "You wanted the idea to spread."
"Exactly." Leofric smiled. "One village would become two. Two would become three. If enough werewolves started believing they didn't need the Moon Goddess to choose their mates, then eventually her place in their lives would become smaller."
Lorelle blinked several times. "So when you said you would slowly erase her from existence…"
"I meant exactly that," Leofric replied. "I wasn't going to kill her followers or destroy every temple in one night. I was simply going to make people stop needing her."
