Primrose didn't take those words to heart because she understood their pain.
[How dare she smile like that in front of us?] Mrs. Moretz thought bitterly. [This human disgusts me. She disgusts me so much that I want to rip her face apart.]
Primrose didn't budge at all, but even though she could understand the pain of a mother who had lost her child, she could still feel the pain of facing Mrs. Moretz's hatred.
"We found your daughter," Primrose finally said, doing her best to stay calm. "She's alive and healthy now, but… I hope you can understand that she may not be the same daughter you remember."
Mrs. Moretz's eyes trembled, while Mr. Moretz clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white, trying to hold back his anger.
"What did they do to her?" Mrs. Moretz asked softly.
Primrose looked at her for a long moment. Her brows lowered slightly, and when she spoke again, her voice was incredibly soft. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Moretz."
