Chapter 356 - Green Leaf

The pain in my body is outrageous, that giant monster I faced was a very tough battle. Not because of the duration, nor because of the wounds. In such a closed space, I had to disable the arm of that giant infected to prevent it from cutting me. As for whether it was the best way or not, that's another matter.

But where did an infected of that magnitude come from?

It's not possible for something like that to exist. Normal evolution never existed, and most likely someone or something was behind that infected. An organization of similar origin to the rabies vaccine that mutated the normal walkers, and thanks to this, now there are walkers that run.

But right now, my curiosity is bigger than anything else. I must know if these people are a problem I have to deal with.

...

Jason looked at this man with indifference, as if his body wasn't screaming in pain right now. But considering he needed to know, one way or another he would get information out of Tony.

"Rrrr." Tony's expression tightened, and due to fear he couldn't stop sweating cold. He was already terrified. He was just a thief, what's going on with these people wearing combat uniforms taken out of a movie? Also, is he talking about torture right now?

Tony was an enthusiast of action movies, it was thanks to them that he learned many important things that have kept him alive until now. But in these moments, many scenes passed through his mind, in each one he sat in the center of a dark room being tortured to death, but never yielding before his enemy. But his fictional mind told him to die with valor, but when he looked at this man in front of him, he felt his body go numb.

So, all those ideas he had couldn't come out of his mouth...

Smack!

Tony, kneeling and afraid, fell to his knees and begged: "Don't kill me! Tell me, what do you want to know? I promise on my dead grandmother, I will tell you the truth and nothing but the truth."

Looking at this man, Jason grabbed him by the back of the neck, lifted him, and then dragged him out of the alley. Now, his intention was for those people who were still shooting to stop.

"Move, you damned idiot, do you expect me to carry you?" Jason felt a sharp pain running through his ribs and then shouted: "Stop right now!"

But Tony, who noticed every little detail, would see that Jason was injured, then after a small slip, he began to speak: "Do you think this is a game? No, this is war."

"What do you mean?"

"Let me go, we will be killed!"

Bang Bang Bang!

At first the shots had stopped, but after Jason shouted for everyone to stop, there were a few more shots, and then he felt Tony wanting to step back two steps, pushing him.

This guy is a huge idiot!

Realizing something was wrong, Jason quickly moved to the side and hid behind the car. "What a damn pain!"

When Jason straightened up with difficulty, Tony's chest had taken several bullet impacts, and the front of his shirt soon filled with blood.

"Rambo endured 10 bullet hits, I can endure…" But Tony, who wanted to remain calm, had already succumbed to fear and everything indicated he could not endure any longer.

Looking at the scene before him, Jason suddenly realized a problem, this group might not be simple, killing their leader without any issue.

"Which community or organization are you from?"

Even though Tony was dying, he still didn't stop trying to obtain news from the other side. Looking at Tony, who kept fighting to survive, there were no signs he wanted to say anything.

"Do you think you're going to survive? You have several bullet wounds in your chest, it's only a matter of time before you pass out, don't you want to share what you know?"

With some provocative words reaching Tony's ears, a trace of resentment shone deep in his eyes. As if he knew he could no longer live, he simply put his hand on his chest and wiped, then stretched out his hand and slowly wrote on the ground a letter "T…"

This movement seemed to have exhausted his last strength, and he collapsed immediately after writing, the expression on his face turning confused, and the corners of his mouth even lifted slightly, as if he had done something that made him happy.

Jason knew very well that this guy was in his last moments before dying, and that it was impossible for him to share any other kind of information, so after the shots stopped, he took out his dagger and stabbed Tony in the forehead.

Looking at those men who were retreating and shooting from time to time, his cold eyes reflected what he really wanted to do. He was about to raise his weapon to kill them all, but suddenly he heard a cry of pain and then a voice calling for Tina.

There are wounded in this place!

Jason looked toward the modified RV, but there were many obstacles preventing him from seeing further than a few meters.

Nervous, anxious, and worried, he had no choice but to give up chasing those legs, he could only take the film Tony had been holding before dying and empty the magazine on some of the people fleeing, then turned around and ran toward the RV.

"Retreat!"

Bang!

Jason raised his pistol and killed him with a shot to the head, he wasn't interested in seeing his face, so he walked as best he could toward the modified RV. Several retreat shouts were heard nearby, and Jason didn't forget to shoot, killing a few who were fleeing.

There were many corpses along the way, so many that Jason couldn't count them accurately. It could be said that dozens died in this clash, something that wasn't a number to be ignored.

After seeing that none of the figures on the ground belonged to anyone from his group, Jason hurried to the RV.

"What's wrong?"

"Abraham was shot."

"What happened?"

Glenn was a bit nervous, so he explained with a quick voice. Only then did Jason realize what had really happened. It turned out Abraham was responsible for numerous casualties on the enemy side because he didn't stay in the modified RV where his safety was guaranteed.

Many looked on in shock at Abraham's great abilities, but Jason knew much more than just the abilities of a strong man.

This powerful man actually has a series of very painful memories—he is a retired soldier. After losing contact with his family for a time, he found them in a mall, where he beat to death some of the men who wanted to harm his family. This act terrified his wife and children; from that moment on, he believed what his family saw before dying was a monster.

After losing his family, Abraham had no intention of continuing to live, and before he ended his life, Eugene appeared requesting his abilities, something that was like a small boat saving Abraham from his collapsing life.

Since then, all his hopes have vanished and he can no longer hypnotize himself. Although there are also institutions on the base that develop vaccines, this can no longer bring comfort to this strong man. From that day on, he participated in outings always acting like a madman. Each and every one of his actions, as if deliberately seeking his own death, caused him and Rosita to have a big fight.

He was more or less aware of this matter, but things at the base were too complicated for him to handle anything else. He had been away from the base for a long time, and although some of his plans progressed as he wanted, there were many others that needed his attention.

When he arrived at the RV, Bob was already treating the wound and discovered it wasn't that serious, but the wound was in a sensitive area, right on the side of his forehead. The bullet fortunately grazed the side of his head, and Abraham was a bit dazed.

This kind of small wound didn't require someone with great medical skills to treat it, but even so, Bob took care of it and soon applied a bandage.

The people at his side couldn't help but smile, and Abraham gradually sobered up and looked at the people around him with a smile on his face.

"What?"

Abraham looked around with a disgusted expression and touched his head, and in a short time he felt the gauze covering the wound and immediately remembered what had happened.

"Damn it, where are those bastards, I'm going to kill them!"

Just as he was about to stand up, someone grabbed him by the shoulders. Abraham looked up, but met Jason's clear and calm eyes.

"You need to calm down! We're still not out of danger, we need to get out of here immediately, right now, George!"

Although Abraham has no intention of openly seeking death, he no longer has the belief to live, but that doesn't mean he will drag others into danger for his own desires.

The anger gradually faded, Abraham regained his composure and slowly stood up with Jason's help, showing he understood, and then sat on a chair.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief; if this guy insisted on chasing those who shot him, they couldn't abandon him.

George, who had been on guard at the front, suddenly warned them. It turned out that the shots had finally brought the common enemy of the living.

"Grab the things and let's get out of this place!"
