"Actually, I was rather looking forward to seeing you compete again," Clarisse muttered with a small smile.
"Especially after what happened during your previous tournaments."
Brandon raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Were you planning to watch me embarrass myself?"
"Quite the opposite." Clarisse shook her head, looking mildly amused by his answer.
"You won the first-year category, and then you were doing great in the second-year category as well. At this point, I was beginning to wonder whether you intended to collect every championship the academy has to offer."
Brandon couldn't help but chuckle "Well, when you put it like that, it does sound a little excessive."
"A little? Brandon, most students spend an entire year preparing for a single tournament."
"Some never even make it past the preliminary rounds. Meanwhile, you seem determined to make the rest of us question why we bother training."
