Violet's anxiety, despite being soothed a little by Sebastian earlier, was back up, flaring as she watched Fang Li approach Sebastian to probably brief him about his tasks and schedule for tomorrow. There was nothing she could do except to stay behind the scenes with his mobile, which kept vibrating with notifications from fans on his post earlier. While he was doing his makeup, she went into her social media site and left a comment.
Thank you for all your support! Let's hope he wraps up work in an hour so that he can rest for his filming next week!
She wrote it on purpose to ensure his fans know his schedule, to guard the place, and to minimise the chance of the agency creating chaos. She also texted Sam to update on their whereabouts and activities. However, just when she thought she was keeping an eye on Sebastian, who was doing his makeup not too long before, he had disappeared from her sight. She was suspicious; makeup wasn't that simple. They at least need 15 minutes, especially when he was not well rested lately, and he had rushed the whole day.
She trusted her gut that something was not right and followed Fang Li. True enough, she was acting suspiciously as she trailed Fang Li to a freezer room nearby. Violet's biggest fear began to rise as she suspected Fang Li was trying to trap Sebastian in it cause she could hear Sebastian's voice inside with other crew members. As Fang Li entered, trying to lure the crew out, Violet had already texted Sam for SOS before sneakily going inside the freezer room as well.
She had forgotten all about the safety measures of where she was entering because her main focus was Sebastian's safety. Before she identified the situation, the main door was closed.
She paused her steps, and she could hear Sebastian calling out. "Hello! What's going on?! Why are you locking the door?!" He ran towards the main door with minimal light shining in from the windows above, only to be stopped by a figure.
He could tell from her silhouette it was Violet as he reached out for her. Her eyes were fixed on his with terror and anger as she trembled slightly in his arms. He quickly got her to hide in a much warmer corner, away from the freezer blower.
"What are you doing here?" He whispered, wanting to take off his jacket for her, who was fidgeting in the cold.
She was wearing her thin blouse and jeans from Phut Bi. She did not have much chance to change earlier, as she let out a sneeze and stopped him from taking off the jacket. Instead, she eased into his arms to hug him, with the jacket covering her in his arms.
"I was keeping you safe… Now all we need to do is wait." She sighed in relief that she trusted her guts earlier and hoped that Sam and his fans would do the favour of picking up the hints she left as a precaution.
"What do you mean? You knew?" He whispered while hugging her tightly and rubbing her back, trying to keep her warm while she sniffed.
She told him what she did and what she saw while resting her head on his chest. She did not want to see his disappointing look, as it would provoke her anger against the agency even more.
"Smart girl… Love you. The fans protected you on the day you went to deal with the agency when I was in the hospital. That was the most I could do at that point in time. I'm sorry." He kissed her forehead to appease her frowns as she pouted.
"Quit… Can't you?" She pleaded sadly as he smiled, understanding she could not bear watching him dive deeper into hardship.
"I have you here with me, and there's only a handful of major projects left, Vi. Let me finish well with the people I work with on these major projects. Not for the agency. I have them backing Phor Tat in the future too." He teased as she smiled sadly when finally meeting his gaze.
They wanted to share a kiss, but she stopped him. She discreetly shook her head and squinted her eyes for fear they were being filmed. Knowing it was the agency's way to get back at him, Sebastian noticed his anxiety level had improved, probably because Violet was around.
However, she was about to fall sick. He could feel her trembling becoming involuntary as she closed her eyes and gripped him tightly.
"Hey, hey, Vi… stay with me…" She endured the shivers at this stage as he kept her close and comfortable.
"Alright. It's alright… Now, think about your most comforting food when it's snowing…" He tried to distract her.
"Riceee… Rice balls…" She struggled with it as he rubbed her back vigorously.
"Good… Good. Imagine this. We are by the roadside when it snows. We both have warm rice balls and roasted tea in our hands." He urged her while shaking her awake.
"Hey, focus! Open those eyes. It's dangerous to sleep!" He warned her of hypertension as she forced herself to look at him and nod.
"Imagine there's a fireplace in front of us… And then we are going to roast sweet potatoes…" He tried every ounce he could to make her stop thinking about the cold as she began to shudder less.
Meanwhile, when Sam received the text message, he was coaxing Jade, who was tired, to sleep. He had also noticed Sebastian's post and his sister's comment. He instantly worked on the emergency.
As he slipped off the bed, leaving Jade asleep, he quickly alerted his newly hired guards from Lucky Clover to be on standby at the location as he rushed over. He also had briefed the guards' manager, Kevin, to alert the police. He intended to barge into the shooting location with his Lucky Clover identity in search of new collaboration while letting his guards search the area for Violet.
"Who are you barging in like that?!" Cao Tung's guard manager, Sylvester, yelled in agitation.
"Ho, ho, aren't you all shooting something on a new product? Where's the crew? Where's your director? I want to speak to him…" Sam acted rogue as he sat on one of the empty tables, folding his arms nonchalantly.
"Who are you to come and cause a mess?!" Sylvester screamed again.
"If you don't get Fang Li out this instant, or Chao Chew Long, I will make sure everything is destroyed," Sam threatened as his gaze darkened at Sylvester, who quickly instructed the rest to find Fang Li.
Despite his nonchalant look, Sam was getting nervous because he had no idea where Sebastian was either, and he was confident Violet was in deep trouble with him. Violet's comment on Sebastian's post crossed his mind. She must have wanted the fans to do something if the filming was not wrapped up in an hour.
He instantly instructed his guards to let news of issues arising with Sebastian out, and for the fans to cause chaos with the reporters. The same old strategy to put the people in danger under public scrutiny will have the agency minimise their threats.
His motive was to make the culprit show where the hostages were, and true enough, Fang Li was torn to deal with Sam, who would wreck up the whole warehouse, where losses would be incurred on the inventories held by Sze Min's business or Cao Tung's stock market dip heavily the next day due to negative news stirred by fans and reporters in dealing with Sebastian.
Jia Le was doing a good job of demanding that Sebastian appear as promised in the post he posted. Fang Li was in a trap, and she had no choice but to head to the freezer room, but stalling for time, trying hard to get through to Chew Long for instructions.
To everyone's surprise, they heard loud bangs from inside the freezer room right when Sam's guards tracked them down. Sam knew Violet had the same idea as him, and that was to destroy whatever they could in a trapped place.
"You're insane, you know!" Sebastian laughed as he continued whacking all the inventories stored in the freezer room. There were lots of cartons of milk and other dairy products, from cheese to gelatine, which Violet had a great time whacking into them with metal sticks they found lying around to shove the boxes in order.
"You said to keep warm. Exercising and warming up by giving in to anger is a great way! Now, whack it all, Sebby! Harder! Stronger!" Violet cheered as they laughed while enjoying themselves.
Violet did not want him to worry about her brewing fever either. She did not have the intention to wreck the whole place at first, but it was an act of one stone killing two birds.
Sam held back his guards, knowing Fang Li and the rest were worried and panicking. She had no choice but to open up the doors. Hearing Violet's laughter, knowing she was safe, made Sam return to the main hall to start his wrecking act of the site too.
"What in the world?!" Fang Li scolded as Violet walked up to her.
"Surprise! Welcome to the party! Thank you for having us. Now, goodnight!" Violet walked off with Sebastian, who caught up, leaving Fang Li in huge trouble to report to Chew Long that night.
Violet was hastily trying to find heat or even somewhere warm to shake off the shivering chills, but the air conditioning and chilly night were not helping.
Sebastian was hastily rushing into the filming set after hearing noises from there to find Sam did the same to the rest of the inventory, from various flours to sugar.
"You might want to head out to appease your fans…" Sam showed Sebastian Violet's comment earlier. Only then did Violet cross his mind, but Sebastian knew his fans were a priority for now to not escalate their situation. He went out to greet them briefly and waved at them to show that he was safe and well while signing some autographs, and spoke with the press about the job and wished both reporters and fans well.
While sorting out these matters, Violet, who was catching a cold rapidly, had been looked after by Kevin. He escorted her directly to the car with a few other guards. She was enduring the chills which were attacking her bones. Even Kevin's coat was insufficient to give her the warmth she needed.
"We will get you to the hospital…" Kevin urged, but Violet shook her head, trying to deny it. He knew she needed it as she struggled to deny going to the hospital, but to no avail. Without hesitation, Kevin instructed the other guards to drive her to the hospital instantly.
