Chapter 51 - Chapter 50: Trust

Li Pei saw his friend panic and he had half the intention to make fun of him. But when he saw the look Mo Shian gave him, he didn't dare.

This guy held grudges. He didn't want to get tripped at an unfortunate time.

"Eh, my phone is out of battery. How about you just let his friend take you home?" Li Pei had no choice but to join in cajoling as well.

"Then use my phone." Xia Weiwei seemed bent on freeing Mo Shian.

She touched her clothes here and there before widening her eyes in shock.

"I lost my phone. How do I call my husband now?" She asked, her voice cracking as if she was about to cry.

Mo Shian, who had thought of hiding her phone so that she wouldn't call, had no choice but to give it to her.

"You didn't lose it. You gave it to me to hold on to it so that it doesn't get lost." He said softly.

"Oh, I forgot about that. Okay, give it to me." She stretched her hand and Mo Shian had no choice but to give the phone to her.

However, another problem arose. Because she was drunk, she couldn't see the screen clearly and couldn't even in put the password.

"Aren't you my husband's friend? Then you must know his birthday, right?" Weiwei suddenly turned to Mo Shian and asked.

"Yes, I know." He said as he swallowed hard.

Was what she was about to say actually mean what he thought?

"Then put in his birthday quickly. That's my password. Then call him." She said hurriedly as she shoved the phone back into his hands.

Mo Shian was surprised that he had been right. She actually used his birthday as the password for her phone.

What did this mean? Didn't this mean that she thought of him all the time? At least when she unlocked her phone?

However, he soon realized something.

"Weiwei, you can't just tell people your password that easily, okay?" He cautioned quietly.

Xia Weiwei looked at Mo Shian as if he was an idiot.

"How can I just tell people my password? Do you think am dumb? Of course I told you because you are my husband's friend and won't betray him." She said matter-of-factly.

Li Pei laughed at the side.

He had never realized that the girl was so funny when she wasn't giving his friend the cold shoulder.

Why had he never realized that she was so adorable before?

Mo Shian sighed for the umpteenth time that evening.

"Okay, I promise not to betray him and tell others your password." He had no choice but to cave.

His business partner at the side was almost having internal injuries from holding in his laughter.

He had never thought that the man who butchered people in business couldn't even handle his wife.

Mo Shian put in the password and dialed his number, then gave the phone back to Weiwei.

She put the phone next to her ear and listened to it as it rang.

Then, a melody she was familiar with rang in the pocket of Mo Shian's trouser.

It was a special melody Mo Shian used for his wife to make sure that he never misses her call.

Xia Weiwei turned her head and widened her eyes as she looked at Mo Shian, then at his pocket, and his face again.

She did this three times before it seemed that she had realized something.

Mo Shian was worried that she would suddenly accuse him of stealing her husband's phone and was preparing to defend himself.

However, the girl suddenly tossed her phone away prompting Li Pei to rush to catch it before it fell, then she staggered towards Mo Shian.

Before he could register what was happening, she buried herself in his arms.

"Hubby, you came to pick me up so fast? Your friend is really reliable." Xia Weiwei said in a muffled tone as she buried her face further into Mo Shian's chest, but those around her still heard what she said.

Not only was Mo Shian surprised, even his friend and business partner were shocked.

That was it?

All it took was a ringtone to recognize her husband? And how could she not tell that the husband she was holding was the same reliable friend who called her husband?

Could anyone explain how her brain works?

Mo Shian was only surprised for a moment before smiling.

"Yes, he is quite reliable. I am grateful he took care of you, so I will thank him next time." He went along with his wife's thoughts and reiterated what she had said earlier.

"That's good, I am so sleepy. Let's go home." The girl said with a yawn and even before Mo Shian could reply, she had already drifted off to sleep.

He bent down and carried her like a princess before turning to his business partner.

"I apologize for my wife's antics. I will treat you to dinner some other time." He said to his business partner, before turning to his friend, "Drive me home." He ordered without any courtesy.

He could tell that Xia Weiwei wouldn't let him go. So, he won't be able to drive the car and Uncle Fu had already gone home.

Li Pei sighed before calling Mo Shian a capitalist and headed towards the elevator.

"It's no problem. See you next time." The business partner said as he watched Mo Shian walk away with his wife in his arms.

He hadn't expected him to be so indulgent when it came to his wife.

It seems that he had found an angle for future business deals.

Mo Shian carried his wife back into the elevator and headed downstairs.

"How did you two end up having dinner here?" Li Pei asked curiously.

"She suggested it." Mo Shian knew what his friend wanted to ask, but he wasn't willing to divulge too much.

Even though they were close friends, his marriage matters were between him and his wife.

He knew that they felt indignant for him and they didn't like Weiwei very much, but he wouldn't allow them to sully her name.

No matter what she became, she was his beloved wife.

Others had no right to criticize her.

Especially now that they were starting to build trust between them, he wouldn't say many unnecessary things.
