Chapter 334 - Chapter 331 ~ Synchronisation

The scene shifts to the training grounds of the Hamura estate. Akihiro was moulding clay into various shapes through the use of earth chakra and will. He made progress that should have been impossible in just a few days.

Ryu's [R.A.T. Seal] was bringing the best out of him by blocking the non-earth chakra.

Kaia too trained in wind manipulation in a similar fashion and was progressing fast. A sudden shift in air pressure against her skin broke the rhythm of their training. She was always sensitive to vibrations.

A small hummingbird descended and landed on Akihiro's shoulder.

Akihiro's hands stilled. The bird delivered the message by tapping on Akihiro's shoulder in Morse code.

Kaia asked, "What?"

Akihiro's fingers moved in sign language – Ryu… Calling me.

"I will come too," Kaia said, already stepping forward.

Akihiro shook his head and signed again – Stay. Train. I go.

With that, Akihito left to meet Ryu, and within minutes, Akihiro had reached Ryu's room. The door was already open. When Akihiro entered, Ryu turned, and a small smile touched his lips.

Akihiro signed a question – Important?

Ryu replied, "Yes, smart move… leaving her out."

Akhiro nodded.

Ryu said, "We are going to a secret place together. No one can know about it—not even Grandpa."

Akhiro nodded.

"It will be our secret," Ryu continued, stepping closer. "Just like the other secret I told you."

Akihiro realises it is important if Ryu is mentioning that other secret.

- How are we going to leave without anyone noticing?

"We will be teleported from this room," Ryu said simply. "No one will notice if we arrange a decoy for our chakra signature in the room."

Akihiro did not fully understand, but he nodded, trusting Ryu.

- Okay.

"Before we go," Ryu said, "I want to calibrate the InstinctGPT Seal on your body."

Akihiro nodded and raised his hand without hesitation. Ryu grabbed it, and the world around them shifted.

They stood inside the [Mind Palace]—a vast, endless void illuminated by golden knowledge spheres hovering before them.

The [InstinctGPT], which was but a neural network based on fuinjutsu coded onto the bodies of Ryu and Akihiro, appeared in the [Mind Palace] as a visual spectacle. one behind Akihiro and one behind Ryu.

The seal showed up as a huge, multi-layered sphere made of dense neural webs woven through geometric patterns. At its core, the seal contained fuinjutsu scripts; however, due to its massive scale, it appeared as a web of coloured light from a distance. Branches extended outward in a fractal network that is shaped like a big sphere.

Akihiro's [InstinctGPT] was blue.

Ryu's own [InstinctGPT] was golden, larger, and more complex, with additional layers that shimmered and rotated slowly.

Branches formed between the two constructs, threads of light arcing like lightning between neural clusters. Both spheres flared suddenly, neurones activating in waves.

- [InstinctGPT] synchronisation began.

- New layers compiled.

- Training new layers…

- Synchronisation complete

New layers compiled onto Akihiro's sphere.

Ryu waited until the light stabilised. "Done. It will help you train faster, but it will not replace initial hard work."

Akihiro's sightless eyes remained fixed forward, his mind feeling the construct shift and solidify.

"When we reach that place," Ryu continued, "utilise all the time to train like there is no tomorrow. We will not be able to stay for too long."

Akihiro nodded silently.

The Mind Palace dissolved, and they returned to Ryu's room.

Ryu reached into his pouch and pulled out a small black device, rectangular and smooth, with three raised buttons along one side and a textured panel on the other. He placed it into Akihiro's hand.

"This is a translator," Ryu said. "You are now proficient with Morse code. Just enter the code and hit the other button—it will say the word for you."

Akihiro's fingers explored the device, tracing the buttons and the ridged panel on the side.

Ryu watched him, then added, "Its side has a night writing machine—you can feel it with your thumb. It shows each entered word in real time for corrections."

Akihiro's thumb brushed over the textured surface. He nodded slowly.

Ryu continued, "The machine can vibrate to repeat the code before finalising and speaking it out… It is super easy and user-friendly."

Ryu paused, then asked, "Kaia told me you spent nights writing in the orphanage... right?"

Akihiro nodded.

Ryu smiled faintly. "The cross button is for Morse code. The square is for repeating the word in vibrations. The circle is to speak the word aloud."

Akihiro's fingers moved over the buttons, memorising their positions.

"I will design the next version to work with your cane and its tapping," Ryu said, "but this will do for now… Try it."

Akihiro's fingers moved deliberately across the buttons. Tap. Tap-tap. Tap. The device vibrated softly in his palm, repeating the pattern, and then he pressed the circle.

"Thanks," the device said in a mechanical voice.

Ryu smiled. Akihiro carefully pocketed the device, his fingers lingering on its edges.

Ryu watched him for a moment, already planning the next version. "Akihiro will soon be training in the Yin-Yang release. If I build a device to differentiate between the two and use chakra instead of a button, he can keep training using the Yin-Yang chakra and speak his mind at the same time. Two birds with one stone."

Ryu then said, "I need a sample of your chakra so I can make a decoy for chakra sensors watching us from a distance."

Akihiro nodded and raised his hand again. Ryu pulled out a modified [Anchor Seal] tag and handed it to him. "Push your chakra into it."

Akihiro followed the instruction and stored his chakra until the moment Ryu made him stop feeling it was enough. Ryu pocketed it afterwards.

"How far along are you in your training with Earth affinity?" Ryu asked. "Are you able to mould without difficulty?"

Akihiro worked the device rapidly – yes.

Ryu nodded, satisfied. "Good. Then I will teach you your first Earth ninjutsu—[Earth Release: Seismic Sense]."

He told Akihiro to sit with him, then began explaining the mechanics slowly and methodically. Akihiro settled cross-legged on the floor. "[Earth Release: Seismic Sense] is a unique sensory-type jutsu. It allows the user to feel even the most minute vibrations in the earth—the march of people in the distance, even the presence of trees and buildings, as non-living things also have a kind of pressure on the earth that can be felt."

Akihiro listened intently.

Ryu then said, "Just like when you trained in the water, you can sense where people are, how far away they are, and how tall they are through improved seismic sense. This time, though, there is no water around your feet."

Ryu paused, letting the information settle. "The jutsu revolves around three core virtues: weight distribution, vibrations, and depth perception—sometimes referred to as hollow measurement."

Akihiro gave a slow nod.

"Its weakness," Ryu added, "is being attacked while holding no contact with the earth, or on earth that is not compacted, such as sand and gravel."

Ryu demonstrated the hand seals used for jutsu.

Ryu then explained, "Normally, the user places their hands or fingers against the earth to sense seismic waves. But you need to learn to use only your feet."

Akihiro nodded.

"But we will start by training with your hands," Ryu instructed. "Eventually, you will try doing it with your feet only and without hand seals in the long run…. After initial training, the [InstinctGPT] will help you do it without hand seals. But you still have to train for it. I already provided training data for this jutsu into the seal on your body."

Akihiro formed the seals carefully as instructed by Ryu, placed his palms flat on the floor, and pushed Earth chakra into the ground. Ryu stepped a few steps back, waited a moment, then purposely stomped his foot very lightly.

The vibration rippled through the floorboards and shot up Akihiro's palms. His head snapped toward the source—not toward sound, but toward the memory of movement captured in earth.

Ryu smiled and said, "Good… You felt it."

Akihiro returned to the training grounds and showed Kaia the device. He let her inspect it, explaining through signs that the machine could speak his words aloud—bridging the gap between him and those who didn't know sign language.

Kaia's brow furrowed slightly as she turned the device over in her hands. "So this... makes others understand you without sign language?"

Akihiro nodded, then signed carefully- It speaks words for me. My words. Out loud.

Kaia's eyes widened, understanding settling in. She was happy for her brother; not all people know sign language. Ninjas commonly do but not everyone.

Akihiro then signed - I will sleep in Ryu's room tonight… He will teach me more about the device.

Kaia's face brightened. "Can I join?"

Akihiro shook his head and signed - Boys-only… You can ask Rina.

Kaia's face twitched. She folded her arms. "That bitch... I would rather train alone." Her expression softened, just slightly. "You enjoy the sleepover."

The rest of the day passed in routine.

Akihiro trained [Earth Release: Seismic Sense], practising until the vibrations became familiar and he could distinguish the rhythm of footsteps from other activities.

Night fell. In Ryu's room, the window stood open to the pale moonlight. Ryu activated the modified [Anchor Seal] tags.

The chakra stored in the seal activated and formed two faintly glowing cores of light that floated up from the seal and settled in the air just above the seal.

The two glowing cores were mimicking the chakra signatures of Akihiro and Ryu. Any sensor outside the compound walls would locate Akihiro and Ryu in the room.

Ryu kept his chakra output minimal.

Ryu looked at the moon and said, "Now."

A beam of pale, cold light descended through the open window and bathed them both in its glow.

The light shimmered, and their shapes disappeared along with it, leaving behind only the steady, dim pulse of the decoy core floating in the room.
