Chapter 440 - Brave Bird

Top floor office of the Macro Cosmos headquarters.

Oleana lightly adjusted her glasses. Suspicion showed on her face, and though her tone remained calm, surprise still leaked through.

"I didn't expect Shiro to actually persuade Professor Oak to cooperate with us."

More importantly, how had he learned the secret Oak was hiding?

As one of the greatest researchers in the scientific world, Oak should have been impossible for ordinary researchers to approach, let alone uncover such confidential information.

Rose, however, looked calm. Only the fingers constantly tugging at the hair near his temple revealed his excitement.

"I knew Shiro would bring us a surprise."

When the day came for Oak to release his results, the Galar region would absolutely explode in popularity across the world.

Judging by how the upper ranks of the regional Leagues usually behaved, they would likely suppress it fiercely.

A Pokédex containing data on the vast majority of Pokémon would hold tremendous appeal for beginner trainers, and even for many Advanced and Gym-level trainers.

When that happened, whether they were Shiro's fans or Oak's admirers, as long as they lacked a strong background, and as long as they wanted a Pokédex, they would flood into Galar.

Galar would welcome a level of prosperity beyond imagination.

The smile on Rose's face could no longer be restrained. He added another instruction.

"Oleana, remember to transfer the Pokédollars on time."

"Yes," she replied with a nod.

"And one more thing." He thought for a moment, then continued, "Didn't Shiro ask for five hundred million Pokédollars to build a research lab? That's too little. Too shabby. Send him one billion instead."

Oleana froze for a moment. Her brows furrowed slightly, but she still pushed up her glasses and nodded.

In her eyes, Shiro was Galar's Champion. Helping the company and the region was only natural.

One billion Pokédollars was far beyond what his contribution deserved.

Although she was unwilling to let him benefit so easily, Rose had already made his decision.

Besides, for the wealthy Macro Cosmos and Rose, a few hundred million Pokédollars was nothing.

Not long ago, they had completely confiscated the assets of Galar's nobles. Right now, the one thing Galar lacked least was money.

As for whether promoting the Pokédex would draw hatred from the Leagues of other regions, Galar had always been pushed aside anyway. The more displeased those regional elites became, the happier Rose would be.

With that, combined with Dynamax, countless trainers would surely rush toward Galar.

The plan to revive Galar was finally within reach.

Rose's eyes shone brightly. He pulled out a map of Galar and gave orders to the waiting Oleana.

"Accelerate the reconstruction of every city and roadway in Galar. We start now. I need a new Galar."

Kanto, Oak Research Institute.

Inside one of the laboratories, Oak was talking passionately, saliva nearly flying everywhere.

"I knew you'd understand."

"Inputting move-related memories into a Pokémon's brain must be deeply connected to psychic power."

"And the move learning machine acts as the central transmitter for that process. Of course, it also needs pre-recorded memory disks."

Shiro rubbed his chin in thought. "Right. If it can be developed to the limit in the future, maybe even this central machine won't be needed. The memory disk alone could become a complete move learning device."

"Exactly!" Oak excitedly slapped the glass shell of the machine. "Those researchers can't understand any of this. Some of them even think it's impossible. Something this simple and useful can definitely be made!"

Shiro glanced at the overly excited professor, then looked toward the nearby table.

The rectangular table was neatly stacked with all kinds of move memory disks. At a rough glance, there were over a hundred of them.

He walked over and picked up several completed disks to inspect them.

[Move Memory Disk: Tackle]

[Move Memory Disk: Quick Attack]

[Move Memory Disk: Take Down]

…..

[Move Memory Disk: Swords Dance]

[Move Memory Disk: Focus Energy]

…..

[Move Memory Disk: Brave Bird]

Shiro's gaze stopped there. His fingers rubbed over the black circular disk in his hand.

Brave Bird. A high-power Flying-type move.

If Corviknight learned this move, dealing with some high-level Pokémon would become much easier.

Oak clearly noticed what he was looking at. After glancing at the disk's label, he picked up a Poké Ball nearby and smiled. "How about we test this machine right now?"

Shiro immediately agreed.

The room was huge, and aside from this one machine, the rest of the space was empty enough for experiments.

Oak weighed the Poké Ball in his hand, then opened the machine's glass cover and pressed it into the slot inside.

"This contains an Advanced-level Venusaur."

As he spoke, he rapidly operated the screen.

Then he picked up another memory disk from the table.

"This one contains the Psychic-type move, Amnesia."

After saying that, he inserted the disk into the slot and activated the machine.

Bzzzt!

A low mechanical hum sounded as the machine began to tremble slightly.

Using his psychic power, Shiro could clearly see that the entire machine was covered in pale blue psychic energy. That energy concentrated between the memory disk and the Poké Ball.

A few minutes later, the machine stopped.

Oak confidently reached in, took out Venusaur's Poké Ball, and threw it to the side.

"Venusaur! Use Amnesia!"

The moment it came out, Venusaur paused for several seconds. Its already dull eyes gradually lost focus.

Then a weak stream of psychic power flowed from the top of its head through the rest of its body.

Shiro observed carefully.

It really was the move Amnesia.

And Venusaur had indeed only just learned it.

As expected of the move learning machine developed by Professor Oak.

"Hahaha, very simple."

Oak recalled Venusaur into its Poké Ball, then gave Shiro a knowing smile. "I still have some things to handle. You can play around here yourself for now. If you have any questions, come find me in the research room from earlier."

With that, Oak waved his hand and left.

Without question, he had just given Shiro a perfect chance to let his Pokémon learn some moves.

Naturally, Shiro understood. He took out his own Poké Balls.

He had long wanted Corviknight to learn Brave Bird.

There were also universally useful moves like Light Screen and Reflect.

And powerful finishing moves like Hyper Beam.

Of course, his other Pokémon also had many moves worth learning, especially ones that could expand their coverage.

He directly used his psychic power to pick out the memory disks he needed one by one, then copied Oak's process and began using the machine himself.
