Inside the bathroom, Julie emptied what little remained in her stomach into the sink. Her hands gripped the edges tightly as she bent forward, her breathing coming in uneven bursts.
For a few seconds, she remained there, eyes closed, trying to steady herself.
The weakness didn't leave immediately but lingered for some minutes.
A thin layer of sweat covered her forehead despite the cool air inside the bathroom.
Slowly, she lifted a trembling hand and turned on the faucet.
Water rushed out instantly.
Julie lowered both hands beneath the stream, letting the cool water gather in her palms before splashing it across her face. The coldness made her flinch slightly.
She repeated the motion several times.
Then she cupped some water into her mouth, gargled quietly, and spat it out.
Only then did she tilt her head back and release a long breath.
The dizziness had lessened, but her body still felt drained.
