The walk back toward the inn was unusually peaceful.
The streets were still alive with merchants calling out their wares, children running between market stalls, and adventurers wandering from one shop to another after completing their morning commissions. Yet despite all the noise surrounding them, Liam couldn't help but notice something else entirely.
Tatiana.
She hadn't taken her eyes off him once.
He could literally feel her gaze burning into the side of his face.
At first, he ignored it.
After another minute…
Still there.
Another minute…
Still staring.
Finally, Liam sighed before turning his head.
"…Ask."
Tatiana's beautiful face immediately lit up.
"Good!"
A delighted smile spread across her lips.
"I have so many questions."
Liam already had a rough idea where this was going.
She raised a finger.
"First."
"How did you suddenly get completely better yesterday?"
"You were barely standing."
