Everything felt surreal, so surreal that it almost seemed impossible to believe that any of it was actually happening, because no matter how much blood covered their hands, no matter how loudly the sirens screamed through the streets, and no matter how desperately they fought to keep him alive, a part of them still refused to accept the reality in front of them, as if this was nothing more than a horrible nightmare created by a tired mind that would disappear the moment they opened their eyes.
