It was obvious that there was no way they were even going to try to arrest Benjamin, because if they had tried something like that they would have been dead in a second, and everyone in the room knew it even if they did not want to admit it out loud.
More than that, Benjamin was right in what he said, because they had no real power anymore in this place, since the moment William became the president everything changed, and he removed all the committees and all the groups that used to watch over corruption cases, suspicious deaths, and even basic human rights issues, so there was no outside control left that could actually stop anything happening here.
So in short, these useless men and women could do nothing at all, but still they walked up to Benjamin like they were some kind of gods, acting like they could do whatever they wanted just because they had a Union badge on their side, as if that alone gave them real authority in a place like this.
