"Myra, it's me who should answer your questions, not them," Garry spoke, breaking the heavy silence. Unlike before, his voice wasn't trembling anymore. She shifted her gaze onto him and waited, her face a mask of indifference, yet her stomach churned with anxiety. She had a feeling that whatever he was going to say next would turn her world upside down.
He began, his voice strained, "I~ …." he paused, clearing his throat, then continued, "I was there at the hospital, on the day you were born. I was the one who ordered the abduction of you."
Myra's whole body went rigid. Cold chills ran down her neck and back as her face was awash with sheer disbelief. Her hazels dilated, but she didn't utter a single word; she couldn't. Meanwhile, Garry continued, "I paid someone to kidnap you. They made a mistake and picked Nora with you." He said this while looking at Brave and Elio, who were gritting their teeth; their hands balled.
