Chapter 68 - 68

Unlike before, he was no longer searching desperately for opportunities.

Now opportunities were beginning to come to him.

But he remained careful.

He had learned that success was temporary if decisions were made carelessly.

That evening, during dinner, Manu looked at his father.

"Appa."

"Are you making another movie?"

Nagaraju smiled.

"Maybe."

"But only if the story deserves it."

Akshata laughed.

"That's exactly what you tell me about modelling."

He nodded.

"The same rule applies to both of us."

"Never accept work simply because it comes."

"Accept work because it's worth doing."

Akshata smiled.

"I'll remember that."

As everyone finished dinner, the house became peaceful once again.

Outside, the city continued its busy pace.

Inside, the family quietly prepared for the next chapter of their lives—Akshata with her studies and growing modelling career, and Nagaraju with new stories waiting to become films.

Neither of them knew what opportunities the coming months would bring.

A few weeks passed, and Akshata continued balancing her school life with her growing modelling journey.

One afternoon, while she was finishing her homework, her phone received a message from IMG.

She opened it casually, expecting a regular update.

But this time, the message was different.

It was a new opportunity.

A major international sportswear brand was looking for a young face for its India youth campaign.

IMG had received a casting request from the brand's Indian regional team, and Akshata's profile had been shortlisted for consideration.

Her eyes widened as she read the details.

It wasn't a confirmed booking yet.

It was only a casting call.

But the opportunity itself was significant.

The brand wanted someone who represented the energy, confidence, and aspirations of young Indians.

Someone who could connect with students and young athletes.

Akshata immediately called her father.

"Appa..."

Nagaraju noticed her excited voice.

"What happened?"

"I got a casting opportunity."

"From whom?"

She told him the brand name.

He smiled.

"That's a good opportunity."

"But remember one thing."

"It's only a casting."

"Don't celebrate before the result."

Akshata laughed.

"I know, Appa."

"I just wanted to tell you."

He smiled.

"And I'm happy that you told me."

"Now prepare properly."

"Go there, give your best, and let them decide."

That evening, the family discussed the opportunity over dinner.

Her mother was excited.

"A sportswear campaign?"

"That means you need energy and confidence."

Akshata nodded.

"Yes."

"The brand is looking for a youthful image."

Manu smiled.

"So now you'll become a sports star also?"

Everyone laughed.

"No," Akshata replied.

"But I have to understand the feeling of the campaign."

Before the casting, she studied the brand's previous advertisements, observed how their ambassadors carried themselves, and practiced expressions that looked natural rather than forced.

Kalpa also joined their usual conversation.

"Host."

"What?"

"This opportunity matches your lifestyle."

Akshata smiled.

"How?"

"You already exercise, participate in sports, and understand discipline."

"Now you only need to communicate that confidence."

She nodded.

"But I still have to impress the casting team."

"Correct."

"So no overconfidence."

"Exactly."

Akshata laughed.

"Even you are giving serious advice today."

"I am always serious."

"You just ignore my wisdom sometimes."

"Sometimes?"

"Most times."

She smiled.

The day of the casting arrived.

Akshata wore simple sportswear and reached the studio with her mother.

There were several other young models waiting.

Some had experience.

Some were appearing for their first major casting.

Akshata looked around and remembered her first modelling experience in New York.

Back then, she had been nervous even standing in front of a camera.

Now, she felt much more comfortable.

Not because she knew she would be selected.

But because she had learned how to present herself professionally.

When her turn came, she walked into the casting room.

The creative team introduced themselves.

They asked about her school, sports interests, and modelling experience.

Then they photographed her in different sportswear looks and recorded a short video test.

"Show us the energy of someone starting a new challenge."

Akshata smiled naturally.

She imagined a student preparing for a race, a new adventure, or a personal goal.

The casting team thanked her.

"Thank you, Akshata."

"We'll get back to you."

She left the room calmly.

Outside, her mother smiled.

"You did well."

Akshata nodded.

"Now we wait."

For her, the biggest achievement was not knowing whether she would get the campaign.

It was realizing that every new opportunity no longer felt frightening.

Each experience had taught her something new.

And whether this campaign became hers or not, she had taken another step forward in her journey.

The next few months passed quickly.

Life continued moving at a steady pace.

Akshata remained focused on her studies, but she was also becoming more serious about her professional work.

She had started understanding that modelling was not only about standing in front of a camera.

It required discipline, preparation, punctuality, communication, fitness, and the ability to work with different teams.

With every assignment, she was learning something new.

Time seemed to move faster than she expected.

She was soon going to turn sixteen.

There were still a few months left, but Akshata often felt surprised by how quickly everything was changing.

Only a short time ago, she had been nervous about her first photoshoot.

Now, she was attending professional castings, working with creative teams, and learning how the industry functioned.

Nagaraju noticed the change in her.

One evening, he told her,

"Akshu, don't forget to enjoy your age."

She looked at him.

"What do you mean, Appa?"

He smiled.

"Career is important."

"Your dreams are important."

"But you are still sixteen."

"Study, spend time with friends, enjoy family moments."

"Don't let work take away every simple happiness."

Akshata smiled.

"I know, Appa."

"I like what I do, but I also like normal life."

He nodded proudly.

"That balance is what matters."

During this period, IMG continued sending her suitable opportunities.

Then, one afternoon, an email arrived.

Akshata opened it after returning from school.

Her expression changed.

She read it again carefully.

Then she walked quickly toward her father.

"Appa..."

Nagaraju looked up.

"What happened?"

She handed him the phone.

He read the message.

A smile slowly appeared on his face.

The sportswear brand had completed the selection process.

Akshata had been chosen as the youth face for their India regional campaign.

For a moment, the room became silent.

Then her mother smiled proudly.

"They selected you."

Akshata nodded, still processing the news.

"I got it."

Manu immediately said,

"So now I have to tell everyone my sister is a sports model?"

Everyone laughed.

Nagaraju looked at his daughter.

"This is a good opportunity."

"But remember what we always discuss."

"The opportunity came because of your preparation."

"Now your responsibility is to do your best."

Akshata nodded.

"I will."

The campaign would involve professional photography, video advertisements, and promotional material for the brand's youth sportswear collection across India.

For Akshata, it was another important step.

It was not just another photoshoot.

It was recognition that she could represent a brand's message and connect with young people.

That evening, she quietly looked at the confirmation email again.

She thought about her journey so far.

From being uncomfortable in front of a camera...

To learning professional skills...

To now becoming the face of a national youth campaign.

She smiled.

The journey was still beginning.
