Chapter 58 - 58

I'd continue it like this:

The lookbook shoot marked an important milestone in Akshata's journey.

Over the following weeks, she returned to her regular training schedule at IMG.

Having already experienced a real professional assignment, she approached every class with a different perspective. The techniques that had once seemed theoretical now made complete sense.

During the remaining weeks of training, she continued refining her runway walk, posing, communication skills, and understanding of the fashion industry.

Daniel often reminded the New Faces group,

"Training never truly ends. Every assignment teaches you something new."

Akshata kept a small notebook with her every day.

After each session, she wrote down the feedback she received and the areas she wanted to improve.

Her instructors noticed her dedication.

One afternoon, Victoria smiled after watching her complete a runway exercise.

"I remember your first day."

"You were watching your feet."

"Now you're walking with confidence."

The photographer who had created her portfolio added,

"And you're much more comfortable in front of the camera."

"You've learned to trust yourself."

The nutritionist was also pleased with her progress.

Her posture had improved, her movements had become more balanced, and she had developed healthy routines that suited both her age and her work.

Most importantly, she had learned that taking care of her health was not about appearance alone—it was about having the strength and energy to perform consistently.

As the final week of training came to an end, all the New Faces gathered for one last meeting.

Daniel stood before the group.

"When you arrived here, many of you had never attended a professional casting or worked on a photoshoot."

He smiled.

"Today, each of you leaves with knowledge, experience, and a stronger understanding of this profession."

One by one, he thanked every trainee.

When he reached Akshata, he said,

"You've shown steady improvement from your very first day."

"You listen carefully, accept feedback, and work hard."

"Keep those qualities with you."

"They'll take you much further than talent alone."

Akshata smiled.

"Thank you for believing in me."

Daniel shook her hand warmly.

"It was our pleasure."

Before leaving, the trainees exchanged phone numbers, took photographs together, and promised to meet again at future castings and fashion weeks.

Emily hugged Akshata.

"Next time we meet, I hope it's on the same runway."

Akshata laughed.

"I hope so too."

...

A few days later, Akshata and her mother packed their luggage.

Before leaving for the airport, they visited the agency one final time.

Daniel met them in the reception area.

"So..."

"Heading home?"

"Yes," Akshata replied.

"I'll continue school in India and return whenever work or training requires."

Daniel nodded approvingly.

"That's exactly what we discussed."

"Continue your education."

"Maintain your health."

"Keep practicing."

"And whenever an opportunity comes, we'll contact you."

He handed her an updated copy of her portfolio along with several printed photographs from her first lookbook.

"These belong to you."

Akshata accepted them carefully.

"Thank you."

As they left the IMG office for the last time on that trip, Akshata paused outside the entrance and looked back at the building.

Only a few months earlier, she had arrived as a nervous teenager with a dream.

Now she was returning home with professional training, her first completed lookbook, a portfolio, and the confidence that she truly belonged in the industry.

The flight to India felt much shorter than the one that had brought them to New York.

When they landed, Nagaraju and Manu were waiting eagerly at the airport.

The moment Akshata stepped through the arrival gate, Manu ran forward.

"Akka!"

He hugged her tightly.

Nagaraju smiled proudly as he looked at his daughter.

"Welcome home."

Akshata smiled back.

"It's good to be home, Appa."

She had returned to India.

But this was not the end of her journey.

It was simply the beginning of balancing two worlds—her education at home and her growing career with IMG Models.

Once Akshata returned to India, life gradually settled back into its normal rhythm.

Since it was shortly after the Christmas holidays, she hadn't been away from school for an entire month. The school vacation had already covered part of that period, so she had only taken around twenty days of additional leave for her training in New York.

Before leaving, Nagaraju had spoken with the school administration, explained the reason for her absence, and ensured that she would complete all the missed coursework.

On her very first day back, her teachers welcomed her warmly.

"Welcome back, Akshata."

"Thank you, ma'am."

One of her teachers handed her a notebook.

"Here are the lessons you missed. You'll also need to complete two projects over the next few weeks."

Akshata smiled confidently.

"I'll finish them on time."

From that day onward, her routine became busier than ever.

She attended school during the day.

After returning home, she completed her homework, revised the lessons she had missed, and worked on her school projects.

Evenings were often reserved for online meetings with IMG whenever required, along with maintaining the fitness and nutrition routine she had learned during training.

Despite the busy schedule, she wanted to continue learning beyond her school subjects.

One evening, while browsing online courses, she turned to her father.

"Appa..."

"Hmm?"

"I've been thinking."

"What about?"

"I'd like to learn another language."

Nagaraju smiled.

"Which one?"

"French."

He looked pleasantly surprised.

"Why French?"

She replied thoughtfully,

"In modeling, you meet people from many countries. I know English is important, but I'd also like to understand another language."

She paused before adding,

"I know I won't become fluent overnight."

"But if I learn a little every day, I'll improve over time."

Nagaraju nodded with approval.

"That's a good way to think."

"Learning is never wasted."

Within a few days, Akshata enrolled in an online beginner's French course.

Twice a week, after finishing her homework, she joined her virtual classes.

The lessons started with simple greetings, pronunciation, numbers, and everyday conversations.

Sometimes she mixed up the pronunciation and laughed at her own mistakes.

Her instructor smiled.

"Don't worry."

"Every new language feels unfamiliar at first."

"The important thing is to keep practicing."

Akshata enjoyed the challenge.

She wasn't learning French because she expected to need it immediately.

She was learning because she believed every new skill would help her grow, both personally and professionally.

Watching his daughter balance school, projects, language classes, fitness, and her modeling commitments, Nagaraju smiled quietly.

He realized that the greatest change wasn't that Akshata had signed with IMG.

It was that she had become someone who genuinely loved to learn.

And he believed that quality would serve her well—whether she was in a classroom, on a film set, or standing in front of a camera anywhere in the world.
