Chapter 56 - Escape

"We have to leave."

Thinking of pros and cons, what they could and could not do, their abilities. Akane decided that it would be better to escape right now instead of fighting the group.

"Good decision," Orochimaru said while licking his lips. If Akane had decided to fight, he wouldn't have stopped him, but his expectations towards Akane would have decreased.

After all, he had also noticed how quick the masked guy's decision-making was and the fact that beside him, they also had to take care of three Jonin Level Ninjas.

"Let's leave a gift for them," Orochimaru spoke, and he started to make hand seals. He used a summoning technique, and with a burst of smoke, several snakes appeared in the surroundings.

"You can take care of yourself, right?" Akane asked Orochimaru, who raised his brows at his words. He saw several lightning sparks appearing around Akane's body, and then Akane picked up and put Tsunade behind him.

Tsunade didn't resist his actions and, understanding what Akane meant, Orochimaru laughed and said, "Yes, yes!"

He also felt a bit challenged by Akane's words, and before Akane could say anything, Orochimaru disappeared from the place.

"Haha! Tsuna, take care and hold tightly. I am not going to lose," Akane said with intensity of sparks around him increasing.

Noticing the little challenge between them and their will to win, Tsunade also laughed and said, "Don't worry, just focus ahead. I will make sure nothing will hit you."

As soon as Tsunade finished her words, she felt a gust of wind hit her. A long electric spark stretched in the direction Akane rushed. Just a few moments later, in their place, Hanzo, with the other three Jonin ninjas, appeared. The three Jonin ninjas started to take care of the Snakes in the surroundings, and Hanzo looked at the scene with his eyes narrowed.

"Lightning Release chakra and Snake summonings?"

'Not only this, but they also judged my level in just one instance and decided to retreat instead of confrontation? Hmm, they aren't average ninjas for sure.'

'Kumo and Konoha won't work together. So, a Snake summon in Kumo or a Lightning release user in Konoha? Since the attack was on Konoha base camp, it would be better to think of it later.'

Hanzo started to think about where the Ninjas could belong. He didn't think of catching up and tracking them since he knew that he wouldn't be able to catch up with a lightning release user, and most importantly, he didn't know how strong they were.

"At least Jonin level, and at least three ninjas. I am sure that they are from Konoha."

Understanding the situation, Hanzo was sure that the Ninjas were from Konoha, and he had methods of finding out who they were. While Hanzo thought of this, the three Jonin Ninjas had cleared the snakes, and they waited for Hanzo's orders.

"We won't be looking for the three Ninjas who escaped just now but look for Ninjas who were at camps. Even if some time has passed, if we speed up, finding them isn't impossible."

Hanzo decided to look for ninjas who were members of the camp and try to find information from them. If he was lucky, he might also find the three Ninjas in the middle, too.

"One of you, go back and ask for reinforcements and look in those directions. Even if those three leave this country, the camp members should be caught. If they resist, kill them all."

A cold light flashed in Hanzo's eyes. Since Rain Ninjas had died, even if the main perpetrator remains alive, the casualty should be on their side, too.

On the other side, Akane, who felt that he had travelled quite far, stopped beside a tree. Tsunade, who was hugging him tightly from behind, got up from his back and stood beside him.

"They didn't chase in our direction," Akane told the information he received from Zetsu and a few moments later, Orochimaru appeared beside them.

"You are late," Akane said to Orochimaru while wiping his face, and in response, Orochimaru chuckled and said, "I stayed to keep a watch. The three Jonin are ANBU Level. They were swift in killing snakes, and it is just as you expected."

"The Masked Man is Hanzo, huh!" Tsunade spoke what Orochimaru meant, and he nodded at his words.

Akane also nodded and added, "Ninety per cent chance, yeah. I saw how the others responded to him. His commands didn't feel like orders. They felt like law."

Orochimaru narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. "You think he saw through everything?"

"He didn't react to the trap like someone avoiding danger," Akane said. "He reacted like someone who's been making traps longer than we've been alive."

"Information about Hanzo is wrong," Orochimaru said. He knew that a Jonin-level Ninja named Hanzo was there in the Land of Rain, but he didn't know that Hanzo was this strong.

"Or maybe forged on purpose," Akane added, and he felt that Danzo had a hand in this, too.

"Still, they didn't chase us. Instead, they looked in different directions. You know what this means, right?" Akane continued and decided to think of Danzo and his involvement later.

Orochimaru noticed that Akane was switching the topic, but he also understood that this wasn't the time to think about whether Hanzo's information was a mistake or purposely forged.

"The Camp ninjas," Orochimaru spoke, understanding what Akane meant and a silence appeared in the group.

"Nope," Akane denied before Tsunade could say anything. It was the same for Orochimaru, who shook his head and said, "Saving them is impossible."

Looking at two guys who understood what she was about to say, Tsunade clicked her tongue. She knew that even if both, or maybe one of them, loved Konoha, they weren't foolish enough to throw away their lives and rely on something unknown like luck.

"We don't have enough chakra, and our mission is completed. It would be better to leave the Land of Rain as soon as possible and then catch up with our clones." Akane spoke after thinking for a moment, and he didn't care about Konoha Ninjas living or dying since he didn't know them.

Since Orochimaru didn't know that Akane didn't care about Konoha Ninjas, he assumed that Akane was talking about the Ninja's perspective and what a Ninja should do in their situation.

But unlike him, Tsunade understood whatever Akane was feeling, and a sigh escaped her lips.

'It will take some time,' She thought and accepted their words.

"Let's rest for a minute and then we will leave," Akane said and closing his eyes, he sat down under the tree. Tsunade looked at Orochimaru, who shrugged, and she also sat beside him with her eyes closed. She went to sleep, stunning Orochimaru, and he noticed that Akane was the same.

Appearing in the dream space, Akane looked at Tsunade and said, "I will ask Zetsu to take them away and substitute to make sure our information isn't leaked."

"I knew it,"

As soon as Tsunade heard Akane's words, she jumped towards him and kissed his cheek. Akane rolled his eyes at her response and said, "I am not doing this to save them. They won't reach Konoha ever, at least until I am sure that their information can't harm me."

"But they will live safely."

Tsunade didn't care whether they reached Konoha or not, as long as they were safe and alive.
