While Rojen and his group were enjoying their drinks, a gang of burly thugs suddenly came down from the mountain on the eastern side of the village, each carrying weapons.
This group had a clear target; it was heading straight for the bar where Rojen's crew was. The villagers who spotted them all changed expressions and hurriedly stepped back.
"I heard some outsider pirates came here, haha."
"Those guys sailing around at sea are way richer than these villagers."
"If we borrow a little money from them, that should be enough for us to live it up for a while!"
With voices full of obvious contempt, the vicious men strode forward quickly. They carried machetes and guns, vicious glints flashing in their eyes. They were clearly no good people.
"It's bandits. Those guys somehow got the news and came down from the mountain."
Hearing their conversation, the villagers immediately understood.
"Should we warn those pirates? They look friendly, not like bad people. Let them hide for a while. Those guys really dare to kill people!"
A worried voice sounded out.
"Go warn them. Those pirates really aren't bad people. They're easy to get along with."
Rojen's group had been so friendly that the villagers quickly accepted them. Upon hearing that the bandits were coming, someone immediately took a shortcut and secretly rushed toward the bar.
Just as the owner smilingly brought over the second round of drinks, the door curtain was suddenly pulled open by a panting villager.
"Pirates, hurry and leave! Bandits are coming from the east, and their target is you!"
Hearing this news, Rojen and the others showed little reaction, but the owner and his wife instantly panicked.
"Bandits? They came again."
At the mention of bandits, the two seemed extremely frightened, their faces changing dramatically.
"Hurry and go, pirates! Those vicious guys aren't people you can afford to provoke. If they get here, you'll get hurt!"
The man at the door urged them again.
"Bandits?" Chaporos looked puzzled.
He had never heard of such a profession before.
"What kind of thing is that?"
Rojen's group still sat calmly inside the bar, even leisurely drinking. This reaction only made the messenger, along with the owner and his wife, even more worried.
"Hurry and leave! Those people really are terrifying!"
But no matter how the three tried to persuade them, Rojen's group didn't move an inch. Time passed quickly, and the bandits' footsteps drew closer and closer.
"Hurry up! It'll be too late!"
The messenger was so anxious that sweat was pouring from his forehead.
"Thank you, uncle. Maybe those people really are fierce and terrifying."
Rojen suddenly spoke.
"But as pirates, we've never even feared the sea itself, so why would we fear them?"
After a pause, Rojen narrowed his eyes, his expression turning serious.
"Just like what Chaporos said, bandits?"
He let out a disdainful laugh.
"What kind of thing is that?"
With that single sentence, everyone in Rojen's group burst into laughter.
They were pirates who roamed freely across the seas. Storms, enemies, and even Marines had never frightened them, how could they possibly fear a mere bunch of bandits?
"Oh? Very soon, you'll find out what kind of thing we are!"
The moment Rojen finished speaking, a large hand suddenly reached through the curtain at the entrance and grabbed the messenger by the head.
Then, with a casual swing, the villager was hurled into the bar, crashing through several tables.
His body was scraped in multiple places, blood flowing from the wounds.
"It's over, they're here!"
The owner and his wife covered their mouths in fear.
One after another, burly men wearing cold sneers pushed aside the curtain and entered the bar.
"Boss, this month's protection fee is doubled. Otherwise, you know the consequences."
The man in the lead had a scarred face and rough skin, as though it had been carved by knives, full of grooves and marks. When he smiled, he looked especially terrifying and ferocious.
Fear filled the eyes of the owner and his wife, and neither dared to make a sound.
After saying that, the man didn't even bother looking at the two again. In his mind, once he gave an order, the other party had no choice but to obey.
Then, his gaze shifted toward Rojen and the others.
"I heard you're outsider pirates, so…"
He licked his lips and revealed a grin.
"You should be pretty rich, right?"
"Money?" Rojen smiled faintly. "I have a little."
"You do? That's good, that's good." The man's eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly. "How about lending me some money in exchange for your lives? You don't mind, right?"
His tone was gentle, but the threat was completely naked and obvious.
At the table, Trens' right hand, which was holding a wine glass, suddenly paused before he heavily placed it down on the table.
He didn't say anything, but beside him, Chaporos suddenly stood up and started cursing loudly.
"Where did you crawl out from, you brain-dead trash? You dare ask us for money? Can you even afford to ask for it?"
"Got a death wish? Do you know who we are?"
No need to think about it, when it came to arrogance and domineering behavior, as a Celestial Dragon, Chaporos was absolutely the ancestor of this bunch of bandits.
In just one or two sentences, his mockery maxed out instantly, causing the leading man's expression to become ugly at once.
"Good! But let me tell you this, bold people always die first. I'll remember you, brat!"
The man said coldly.
"You piece of trash, what right do you have to remember this young master?"
"You're so ugly I get annoyed just looking at you!"
Chaporos cursed loudly, and by the end, he couldn't hold himself back any longer. He suddenly leaped up from his seat.
To everyone's shock, this usually carefree and goofy Chaporos actually charged straight at the bandit leader.
Before the bandits could even react, Chaporos' fist had already landed on the man's face with lightning speed.
Bang!
A dull sound rang out, and the man let out a muffled groan.
When he raised his head again, one of his eyes was already swollen and bruised purple.
This result stunned everyone. No one had expected that the usually unserious Chaporos would actually do something like this.
Trens speechlessly covered his forehead.
"Big brother… you're a Celestial Dragon. Where's your nobility? Your image?"
"Even though I don't usually use my fists, at this moment, only by hitting you like this can I make you remember!"
Standing right in front of the bandit, Chaporos spoke loudly and arrogantly.
The bandit's mouth twitched, his anger already beyond control.
"I'm going to kill you!"
"Kill me?"
Chaporos raised an eyebrow and threw out another punch.
This time, the bandit had been prepared, but to his surprise, he still couldn't block it.
The fist once again smashed heavily into his face with a crisp sound.
Then, his other eye also turned purple.
"Fuck! Kill them all!"
This time, the bandits completely exploded with rage. Their boss had been beaten right in front of all his underlings, wasn't this a direct slap to their faces?
"Remember this for me, from now on, in front of me, no one is ever allowed to be more arrogant than I am!"
Amid the chaotic scene, Chaporos' voice was especially loud and overbearing.
Click! Clack!
At the same time, numerous weapons were raised, and all the bandits' hate-filled gazes focused on him.
Yet in such an environment, Chaporos showed not the slightest fear.
He turned his head toward Rojen and the others, waved his hand grandly, and shouted:
"Little bros, attack!"
