Chapter 444: Daphne
I do not know what is going on, but I have been walking for three hours with Elara now, heading in some direction deep into the woods. I have noticed there are other—I think mated pairs—walking in the same vague destination.
I mean, I am not tired, but still.
It does not help that we are barefoot too. She said be comfortable, so I am in shorts and a t-shirt. Elara is in some dress. Everyone is just walking in this vague direction.
It feels like a scene from a horror movie.
But honestly, even if I were walking into hell itself, I still would not turn around.
The sun is starting to set. The late sunlight filters through the large, dense trees, casting long golden shadows across the forest floor. The air is cool and crisp. The ground is soft beneath my feet.
I see a couple of wolves run together, their paws barely making a sound on the earth. They are heading in the same direction.
