The commentator's voice echoed throughout the arena as the crowd erupted in cheers.

"I hereby declare—the Champion Battle officially begins! Lord Shigen, please send out your first Pokémon!"
The commentator announced without hesitation.
"My first Pokémon… I choose you! Go—Salamence!"
With a powerful wave of Gyokuryu Shigen's hand, Salamence flapped its wings and soared onto the battlefield.
It hovered before Aerodactyl, lifting its head proudly, a trace of disdain flashing in its eyes as it stared down its opponent.
"Roar!"
Aerodactyl narrowed its eyes slightly, emitting a low growl in response.
"Both Pokémon are ready! Mr. Liam has no intention of switching!
Salamence versus Aerodactyl—the battle begins now!"
The commentator shouted excitedly, eagerly awaiting the explosive clash.
However—
Despite the match having officially begun, neither side made the first move.
Both Pokémon simply stared at each other, as if calculating something unseen.
"Liam, since you're the challenger, you may attack first."
Gyokuryu Shigen waved his hand generously, smiling.
"Heh, then I'll gladly accept your kindness."
Liam smiled faintly. He reached up and grasped the Key Stone necklace on his chest.
His expression sharpened as he shouted:
"Aerodactyl!"
"ROAR!"
"Mega Evolve!"
"ROOOAR!!"
At that instant, the Key Stone in Liam's hand and the Mega Stone embedded in Aerodactyl's leg guard resonated together!
Golden light burst from both stones, intertwining and erupting into dazzling, multicolored brilliance!
"ROOOAR!!"
Engulfed in rainbow light, Aerodactyl let out a thunderous roar. The glow faded in the next moment—and a vastly larger, drastically transformed Aerodactyl appeared before everyone!
"…W–Wow! What just happened?! Aerodactyl's appearance has changed! Is this evolution?! But it doesn't look like a normal evolution—this is my first time seeing something like this!"
The commentator stared in disbelief, stunned into silence before shouting in astonishment.
The audience erupted into heated discussion.
In the stands, Delia watched the imposing Aerodactyl and instinctively pressed her own Key Stone necklace, a small smile forming on her lips.
"What an astonishing change… Is this the higher-level evolution mentioned in Black Ape's report? I've never heard of such a thing before. Did you discover this yourself? How did you do it, Liam? Would you mind explaining?"
Gyokuryu Shigen's eyes gleamed with sharp interest as he examined Aerodactyl.
"Heh, it's only a temporary evolution. And I wasn't the one who first discovered it. In the distant Kalos region, there have long been similar cases. They call this phenomenon Mega Evolution."
Liam spoke calmly, holding nothing back.
"It requires a deep bond between a Pokémon and its trainer. Only when their hearts are in sync, and with the activation of two corresponding stones, can this evolution be achieved. Such cases are rare—and not all Pokémon are capable of Mega Evolution."
"Kalos, hm… That truly is a distant place. When I was younger, I wanted to travel there myself, but I never made it past Unova. To think such a miraculous evolution exists there… how regrettable."
Gyokuryu Shigen chuckled softly.
"Still—thank you for your generosity, Liam. It seems Kalos is about to attract worldwide attention."
He could already foresee trainers from every region flocking to Kalos. Whether that would be a blessing or a curse—only time would tell.
"Well, that's beyond my concern now. Let's continue the battle."
Gyokuryu Shigen's gaze sharpened, fixed firmly on Mega Aerodactyl.
"Come, Liam—let me see just how powerful this evolved Aerodactyl truly is!"

After Mega Evolution, Aerodactyl's Ability had changed. Its former Rock Head was replaced with Tough Claws, sacrificing recoil immunity for vastly increased close-range power!
At Liam's command, Aerodactyl's massive, stone-covered wing-claws erupted with blue-violet Dragon-type energy!
The energy enveloped its wings as it lunged forward, slashing like twin blades of stone!
"Be careful, Salamence! Show them our strength too—use Dragon Claw!"
"ROOOAR!!"
Gyokuryu Shigen's booming command echoed like a bell. Salamence roared in response as sharp Dragon claws burst forth from its forelimbs. It charged forward, meeting Aerodactyl head-on!
BOOM!!
Dragon claws and dragon wings collided midair, unleashing a violent shockwave!
The battlefield was instantly engulfed in roaring winds—sand flew, grass tore free, debris scattered everywhere!
"ROOOAR!!"
Feeling the immense force from Salamence's claws, Aerodactyl growled low—
then surged with power once more, violently flinging Salamence away!
"WOOAAH!!"
Salamence was sent flying back, its expression filled with shock. Its former arrogance had vanished completely—replaced by solemn focus as it stared at Mega Aerodactyl.
