Ulysses arrives at Sienna-Rose's laboratory with Silas not long after receiving the message she sent him, and he brings the Royal Sorcerer along without giving him much explanation beyond telling him that Sienna-Rose has discovered something he will probably find interesting.
Ulysses knows Silas well enough to understand that the older sorcerer can spend hours talking about magic, machines, and strange discoveries when someone gives him something genuinely new to think about.
More importantly, Ulysses has begun to notice how easily Sienna-Rose and Silas can challenge one another's ideas, even though their first meeting had been anything but friendly.
If Sienna-Rose is going to build something new again, having another brilliant mind beside her will probably save everyone from discovering problems after the machine has already been built.
