Chapter 36 - Well better late than never

In the choas surrounding the police precinct. The screams of the helpless officers could be heard, but they never left the building, as there was an invisible barrier which seemed to prevent sound from being heard by the outside and created an illusion from starterling the public.

Lason, Cassandra and surprisingly Astra stood on the roof top across the police precinct.

"Shall we go retrieve your friend?" Astra asked in as she opened a portal into the chaotic place. Lason and Cassandra didn't wait for her to finish as they jumped in. She stared at then with a small pout on her lips. "Hmph! Not even a thank you, rude."

She entered through the portal and she witnessed the scene that played out i front of her. Corpses of that seemed to have been eaten, some seemed to have been barely able to keep themselves alive.

Cassandra and Lason moved through the bodies, the smell of blood didn't seem to bother them or the sight.

"Any ideas on what happened hear? Lason questioned to no-one in particular, but they knew who he was referring to.

"What just because I'm a witch i should immediately know what happened?"

"..."

"..."

"Haaa." Letting out a small sigh as she continues. "Seemed there is a barrier canceling the happenings of the building from the public, and judging by the marks left from the people seems there were eaten by humans. So this could either be hypnosis or necromacy." She finished as the should of grunts and and raspy growls could be heard down the hall as a couple of police officers were walking oddly.

They spotted the trio and rushed towards them at impressive speeds but, as they got close.

Crack.

Pop

Lason punched the undead officers in his face his fist going through the mans head as Cass chopped the head of the other at lightning speed and kicked the body away making it hit the wall.

"You do remember we have to find your friend right?" Astra questioned the twins as Lason tossed the limp body to the floor.

"Yeah, and?" Cassandra asked with a faint hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Well... shouldn't we be moving?" She questioned again. Causing Cassandra to toss the head over to her before it could touch her in invisible force cought it.

"You're good at tracking spells little witch, find the person who did this to them. " Cass finished as her body was coated with her purple lightning. I'll check the perimeter for anything." She finished as she vanished in a blurr so fast neither Lason nor Astra could make out her movements.

"Was your sister always that fast?"

"Nope!"

"Good to know."

After leaving her brother and the little witch behind she moved beyond her original top speed, passing multiple undead officers.

Her perception was fast before, but now it seems as if time stood at a standstill. She ran decapitated multiple of the officer as she easily dodged the bullets in the air.

Cassandra wondered why her and her brother's abilities were enhanced thus greatly. "Needless thought later now gotta get to Lazarus." She ran even faster leaving a small Shockwave behind her as she reached the area there the interrogation room was she sliced of the last remaining of the undead.

As she looked infront of her she saw the two officers who took Lazarus.

Officers Denise was holding a pistol while Randle was holding a shotgun both seemed tired and exhausted. As Cass moved in a blurr as she grabbed both of them and lifted them by their necks choking them and lifting them up.

They tried to resist but it produced futile results as,choked gasps and as their arms clawed at her, but she didn't budge.

She finally spoke but her voice wasn't friendly. "I'll ask you fuckers this once and once only. Where is Lazar-." Before she could finish she heard the sound a gun being cocked-back, Cass let them go and jumped back.

Cassandra eyes glowed with a fearsome furry.

Nova held the shotgun and aimed it towards the vampire's face.

"Stay right there, or else I'll blow your fucking skull off!" She exclaimed but, before she could get a full grasp on the situation Cassandra had other things in mind.

Cassandra slammed her on the wall, and grabbed by her face.

Nova could feel the immense heat being exuded from the woman. No, monster was the correct word for the being infront of her.

"Where is he?" Her words had an fiery vemon to them, and hidden protective instinct.

Nova realized this a spoke in-between choked gasps. "He...was.. kidnapped by some hoodied figure."

Upon hearing that Cass anger seemed to be replaced with a hint of sadness. Nevertheless she shook her head to ask a question but before she could do so.

Slash.

Cass heard the should of air being cut.

Without thinking she tossed nova to the side ducked under the attack and backward kick her attacks in the stomach causing him to skided-back.

Cassandra looked at her attacker and the being that attempted to take her life had her baffled.

He was a handsome man of native-America desent with cinnamon brown skin, long messy hair, and fluffy wolf ears atop his head alongside a fluffy black tail. He had a well-defined muscular build with toned arms, a chiseled chest, and He had a large frame.

His eyes were a haunting yet beautiful white color like the moon, conveying a sense of wisdom and sorrows. He was only wearing tattered beige pants and a feathered necklace wrapped around his neck.

His nails were sharped into claws which he used to nearly cut Cassandra head off her shoulders.

"You know, you could've arrived earlier Bacho."

"Sorry sis, but you know what they say better late than never."

-

Lazarus opened his eyes and as he did he felt incredible pain across his body. "Argh! What the hell happened?" He questioned to know one in particular.

"Well we captured you so you can answer our questions. Hope you don't mind?"

Lazarus heard a voice of someone he didn't know and turned to it he saw the hooded figures who attacked the precinct.

"Ah! Fuck my life."
