During Elijah's meeting with the witch Regent, Lucien visits Klaus with Alexis.
Inside, Klaus was sitting on a couch in his painting room, going over his recently finished work with an arm draped over the side as they walked in.
"Lucien, my old friend, something tells me you're not here for pleasantries," said Klaus, looking the witch over after taking a drink from Hayley, who bowed before taking her place at the back.
"Last time I was here, your brothers were around, and I couldn't find the time to tell you," said Lucien, approaching him.
Klaus's eyes narrowed. "Tell me what?"
"I think you might want to hear this in private," said Lucien, looking towards the hybrids stationed around the place.
Klaus straightened, "Say what you need, they won't betray me."
Lucien stiffened, catching his meaning; they were all compelled slaves. He had never heard of Klaus taking it this far before; this was new and dangerous, if his very free will was at stake.
Composing himself, Lucien introduced his witch yet again, "Alexis here is more than she seems, not an ordinary witch by any stretch of the imagination. She's a seer."
"Is she now?" asked Klaus, intrigued, giving her another once-over.
"Yes, my lord," Alexis grinned invitingly, giving a small curtsy.
"And I care why?" asked Klaus, lying back on the couch, feigning disinterest.
"There's a prophecy about you and your family, a prophecy you need to see," said Lucien, guiding Alexis to sit next to him.
"See how?" questioned Klaus, watching them warily.
"You must drink from me so I can show you," said Alexis, offering him her arm as Lucien pulled down part of her dress to get at her bare shoulder.
"Drink, and you'll see," persuaded Lucien, taking the first bite.
Seeing him bite, Klaus followed suit.
Experiencing the prophecy Alexis had constructed firsthand put a knowing smirk on Lucien's face as Klaus ate it up.
The constant threat of his brothers now loomed above him like an ever-growing shadow.
Finished, Klaus released her with an angry scowl, "You expect me to believe this?"
"That's for you to decide. I was just making sure you had all the information to make it. You know Alexis is not the only seer. The world thinks your family is vulnerable since Rebekah's death, and your enemies are closing in, willing to take whatever risks they can to see you fall," Lucien warned.
Klaus snorted, "And you don't?"
"If you fall, I fall," said Lucien, cementing his relationship as an ally in Klaus's eyes.
Downstairs in the open courtyard, they heard a commotion as one of the hybrids sent with Elijah sped towards them, kneeling before Klaus.
"Sir, I've brought Elijah back. The meeting with the Regent fell through, Finn ambushed us," the hybrid reported.
"What do you mean you brought him back? Where is Elijah?" asked Klaus, standing.
"I left him downstairs, he's been daggered," said the hybrid, keeping his head down.
"And why haven't you undaggered him?" asked Klaus, irritated.
"Tyler feared he'd stay and fight against your wishes, so I brought him back, waiting for your orders, sir," the hybrid answered.
"And where is Tyler?" asked Klaus.
"He stayed behind to fend off Finn's pursuit, along with the other two," said the hybrid.
Klaus scowled. The last thing he wanted was to lose one of his two only remaining successful 1st-generation hybrids.
Then they heard another commotion downstairs and a furious yell from Kol, "KLAUS! Why has Elijah been daggered?!"
Klaus sped downstairs, appearing before him with Elijah already waking up, as Kol held the dagger in his hand.
Kol sneered, "If you think for one second I wasn't going to release him, you've got another thing coming."
Klaus rolled his eyes. "Kol, please remind me who last had all the silver daggers."
Kol's expression faltered, "Finn… Finn daggered him."
Klaus clapped mockingly, "Somebody get him a prize."
"Well, why didn't you undagger him then?" asked Kol heatedly, trying to save face.
"He just arrived while I was upstairs entertaining guests," said Klaus as Lucien and Alexis appeared, slowly walking down.
"Oh," said Kol, completely deflated.
"Now, if you please, I'll take that," said Klaus, holding out his hand, leaving no room for argument.
Kol reluctantly hands over the dagger, glad that he at least didn't have any more white ash to use.
"Could someone perhaps fill me in on what's going on?" asked Elijah, getting to his feet.
Klaus called the hybrid, "Tell us everything that happened."
The hybrid told them everything he knew about Finn killing the witches and the chase.
After he finished, Tyler entered and said, "I can fill in the blanks."
Kol frowned, hearing about Bonnie, worried for her.
"Bonnie Bennett, she's a dangerous one," said Klaus, looking concerned. He knew firsthand how much of a pain she could be to deal with.
"And this device, this music box, any ideas on how to counter it? Would earplugs work?" asked Elijah.
"Only one way to find out," said Tyler.
"I think it's time we find new leaders for the human faction if they can't even keep their hunters in line," said Klaus.
…
Father Kieran was just about to open his secret apartment when Cami's abrupt appearance scared him. "Uncle."
"Jesus!" Father Kieran dropped his key, clutching his chest, "Cami, what are you doing here?"
"You're not supposed to say the Lord's name in vain," she joked.
He glared at her until she grinned apologetically, "Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you. I saw you and decided to follow. What is this place anyway? I know you don't live here."
He slowly picked up his key. "Is there something you want?"
"I wanted to see if you were okay. I've heard about the church, and the city hasn't exactly been safe of late. It feels like it's circling the drain," said Cami, concerned.
"Is that why you followed me?" asked Kieran, giving her his full attention.
Cami shook her head exasperatedly, "Don't do that, don't turn this around on me and avoid the question. You always do that!"
"Cami…"
"Don't Cami me, I know something's going on, something similar to what happened to Sean, I can feel it," said Cami seriously.
Kieran sighed, "You know what? You're right. If you're going to keep living here, against my wishes," giving her a look. "You'll need to know what's happening," he said, putting the key into the door.
Bewildered by his sudden admission, Cami stared, "So you do know something," she accused.
"I was trying to protect you. Keep you safe and happy," said Kieran.
"I lost my happiness the day Sean died," she said, eyes misting over.
"I thought with time you might get over it and move on, but I see now that was foolish of me," said Kieran, opening the door and walking in.
He then stopped preventing her from entering and turned towards her. "Don't touch anything without asking, the objects in here are more dangerous than you can possibly imagine," he warned.
Cami gave an obedient nod, following him inside. Looking around at all the unique stuff, "What is all this?"
Searching the shelves, his finger stopped on top of a journal labeled Sean's Diary. "Here, read this, and then when you're done, I'll answer any questions you might have."
