Her voice slowed, deliberate.
"It states that the Brown family can reclaim the fifty percent stake transferred to me… if I die a natural death."
She lifted her eyes. "And 'natural death' is defined so vaguely… it could mean anything."
Her lips curved faintly. "An accident. A fall. An airplane crash."
She let the words linger.
"And I'm sure the Brown family is… more than capable of making any death look natural."
Shay's pupils shrank. A faint chill crept up her spine. Aurora didn't stop.
She flipped another page. "And then there's clause 4.1.3."
Her tone turned colder. "It says my family must pay a lump sum if I fail to 'follow the plot.'"
She emphasized the last words with a soft, almost sarcastic laugh.
"'Follow the plot'… such an interesting phrase."
Her gaze locked onto Shay.
"It's so ambiguous that you could twist it however you like."
A pause. "You could claim I violated it at any time… and demand compensation."
