Darkness had surrounded Ella, but before long, she began to see her surroundings better.
She was watching herself... Watching the girl she used to be in a past life.
"Please... you have to believe me," the other Ella begged, her voice trembling, eyes red from crying.
Lucien stood in front of her, his expression cold, distant, and unmoved. In his gaze was the one thing Ella hadn't noticed earlier, disgust.
Beside him, Emily clung to his arm, her head lowered slightly as a single tear slid down her cheek... perfectly timed.
Ella's chest tightened. "No wonder she is such a good actress." Ella muttered with a clenched fist.
Fake. She could always see it clearly. Emily's every tear, every fragile expression she made... it was all an act. She could not understand how no one else ever noticed it. 'Or did they just not care?'
"How could you be so vicious?" Lucien's voice rang out, sharp with accusations. "How could you make such a post about her?!"
