The following morning, nothing urgent appeared to fill the time Kael had finally learned not to fill himself. His training would increase, Elion would continue testing the matrix, Seraphine had a list of places she wanted to visit, and the nameless man still planned his days around things as simple as a new sprout appearing in the garden.
Kael arrived at the courtyard shortly after breakfast and found Sylphie leaning against the wall, holding two wooden swords. She hadn't prepared any markers, targets, or specific exercises. She simply tossed one of the weapons to him and pointed toward the center of the field.
"Three hours," Sylphie said, stepping away from the wall. "You can increase the intensity, use mana, and incorporate Heavenly Step normally. If I notice any changes in your channels, we stop."
"That almost sounds like freedom," Kael replied, testing the sword's weight.
"Don't push your luck."
