Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Before the War Against the Gods

[3rd POV]

The next couple of weeks had flown on by, without much happening in between. During those two weeks since Aphrodite had joined the faction, Morgan had noticed a lot of things were going down in the supernatural side of the world.

For one, the Greek Gods had been on the move. As in, moving around the world a lot more than they normally did. They were recruiting people en masse around the world. Or at the very least, they were trying their best to. It wasn't really working, as Morgan was actively keeping them from properly doing so.

The recruitment was primarily them going around the world trying to get rogue groups to join them. Rogue fallen angels, the very very very few remaining rogue Devils. There were also rogue exorcists and others.

None of these rogue elements had remained once Morgan had found out about what the Greek was trying to do. She had sent out her peerage across the world, ordering them to take care of the problem for her. Aka, wipe out the rogue elements that refused to join them.

Most of them did refuse, as the only ones that were still rogue were kind of nuts and not all there in the head. These were primarily people that still believed in the Old Satan faction, others that had similar beliefs to that of Kokabiel and wanted war.

There was also the exorcists who hated her and the rules she was rapidly putting into place. On top of that there were those that hated her simply because she was a devil in pretty much very single way that mattered.

Morgan did not particularly care too much about the rogue elements, as quite frankly, they were pretty pitiful in terms of power. As in, not even remotely a problem for the faction, even if they all unified to aid the Greeks.

And they could not do that now that she had wiped them all out, be it through killing them or them joining her factions.

The other forces that the Greeks had gone to were the Vampires.

Sadly for them, they were far too late. As once she had received word that they were planning on recruiting the vampires into their group, Morgan had worked with Valerie and dominated the Vampire faction into joining with them.

They had willingly joined after seeing the power of Valerie, and seeing just how high their people would be able to ascend when working underneath Morgan and the rest of her faction. With them joining her faction, they had been offered blood without having to hunt any longer.

They had accepted. On top of that, she had provided means to destroy the weaknesses that they had in regards to the sun. So the sun would no longer harm them ever again.

The other reason why they had willingly joined her faction, was because they had found out that Morgan was the Goddess of the Night. The night was something that they were instinctively connected with, and thanks to that, they were even more willing to join her.

With the vampires joining her faction, the Greeks no longer had any other proper faction to recruit. There were some minor ones, like the Mermaids, the Werewolves, a small fraction of the dragons, the demigods, the human mages, and a few others.

But Morgan had swept in and brought the Werewolves under her. The dragons had naturally followed her the second they found out that Ophis was an official member of her faction. The Demigods that were a part of the Shinto Pantheon had naturally joined. As did the demigods from a few other pantheons as well.

The mermaids had been an easy recruitment, as they did not particularly like the Gods due to an event in the long past. And Morgan offered to let them settle in the newly forged oceans of the Underworld, which was incredibly rich in magical power and demonic energy. This would boost their power massively over the years.

The human mages had been the only one that was not possible to recruit all of. But she had managed to get most of the major groups to join her and her faction. But there was a few that had decided to join the Greek.

Morgan did not really understand the thought process, as it was...frankly stupid. But she had decided not to question it too much, as they mattered very little in her eyes. They were weak, and pretty pitiful in comparison to 95% of her newly growing faction.

The other groups that Morgan knew the Greeks were working with was the ones that she had expected.

The Celtics, the Egyptians, the Aztecs, the Persians, the Romans, and various other Godly Pantheons. All of them had forged a sort of coalition to deal with Morgan and her rising faction. The Hindu had seemingly also been invited to join, but from what Morgan knew, they had not joined yet.

She had a feeling that the Hindu pantheon would not be joining until they found out whether or not they actually had a chance against Morgan and her faction. Which would not go well in their favor, as after she deals with this little coalition, she'd need to speak with the Hindu, and deal with them as well should it come down to it.

Morgan had naturally gotten a few Fanon maker uses thanks to this. She ended up getting three.

[Kyogan | Kekkei Genkai - Like all dojutsu the first of the Kyōgan's abilities is being able to see the flow of chakra. The Kyōgan itself gives colour to chakra, allowing the wielder to differentiate them. They are also able to tell if a person is under a genjutsu because the person's chakra flow would be irregular. The Kyōgan's second-most prominent ability grants the user an incredible amount of speed, being able to move faster than a user of Swift Release. The Sharingan also has trouble keeping up with the Kyōgans' speed. The Kyōgan's third and most well-known ability is that it grants the user the ability to see a persons' fear. much like Genjutsu the user makes eye contact with a person, however the user can look into a person's mind and find there fears, and then manifest the fear into a physical form]

—————

[Shintogan | Kekkei Genkai - The first of the three gifts granted by the Shintōgan is telekinesis, which enables the user to move objects at a distance with their mind. Smaller objects can be moved in large quantities and in rapid succession, while larger objects require the user to exert more mental force to move even a single object, all while demanding that the user wait before moving an object again. The willpower and intelligence of the user determines the potential size and movement speed of the object the user is capable of manipulating. It should be noted that telekinesis cannot move people or animals. Along with the ability to manipulate objects, telekinesis also grants the user the ability to use psychokinetic levitation, allowing them to float and fly off the ground up to a total height of 2 meters (6.5 feet). While the user's agility is increased due to flight, they still retain their body-weight, unlike the Leight-Weight Rock Technique. Thus, they move slower than the Leight-Weight Rock Technique's variant of flight. However, because of the presence of weight, they possess greater control whilst flying and any physical blows delivered by the user tend to retain their full force of impact. The willpower and intelligence of the user determines their proficiency in levitation and flight.

The second of the three gifts granted by the Shintōgan is hypnotic gaze, which enables the user to ensnare their opponent in a psychokinetic stare, trapping them, so long as the user maintains eye contact. Just catching a glimpse of the Transcendental Shintōgan forces the target to wish to stare into the user's eyes, however, the target may resist this urge without too much difficulty. Despite the presence of this resistance, the longer the target stares into the eyes, the more difficult it becomes to look away until the target can no longer look away or close their eyes at all. Looking away does not erase the level of the urge to look for 15 seconds; the level of urge is cumulative unless the target can refrain from looking at the Shintōgan for at least 15 seconds, upon which the urge is completely reset to zero. Additionally, this ability can only affect one target at a time, as the user can only stare at one person's eyes at any given moment, however, cumulative urge can still be held by multiple individuals at once. Considering the effectiveness of this ability is dependent on the user's willpower and intelligence, resisting the urge requires the target to use their own willpower and intelligence to break free of the hypnotic gaze.

If the target is caught within the hypnotic gaze (any level of cumulative urge), they are increasingly unable to move their head or look away so long as they are unable to resist or break free from the ability. They can still think rationally and they remain conscious unless knocked out by some other means, but they cannot move their head as they are fixated on the eyes. This ability cannot be used like mind control in order to force a target to perform a certain action. However, the third gift of the Shintōgan is often used in conjunction with this ability in order to immobilize, torture, or force the target to feel certain sensations. There are 10 Levels of Urge: Just a glimpse = Mild Interest. 1 second = Target begins to be drawn into the stare. 2 seconds = There is a strong urge to look into the eyes. 3 seconds = The target is likely to be capable of resistance. 5 seconds = The target has a moderate chance of resistance. 7 seconds = The target has a slightly improbable chance of resistance. 9 seconds = The target has a relatively low chance of resistance. 12 seconds = The target has a slim chance of resistance. 15 seconds = It is almost impossible for the target to resist. 20 seconds = It is impossible to resist and the target is completely enthralled

The third and last of the three gifts granted by the Shintōgan is neurokinesis, which enables the user to telepathically control parts of their target's brain, allowing them to control the target's nervous system. So long as they maintain eye contact, they can force their target to feel pain, numbness, and other physical sensations—even pleasure. This ability can only affect one target at a time and the effectiveness of this ability is dependent upon the willpower and intelligence of the user. The longer the user looks into the target's eyes, the greater the feeling becomes, gradually increasing in potency, so long as eye contact is maintained. By forcing the target's brain to send signals to the body's nervous system after establishing a psychic connection with the second gift (hypnotic gaze), the user can force the target to feel the desired physical sensations, which returns these sensations back to the target's brain. This process is modified based on the desired feeling projected into the target's mind. If the user decides to make their target feel pain, the pain stops if or when the target passes out, thus preventing death. This pain can come in many different forms: Aches, burning sensations, sharp pains, piercing pains, and the list goes on. For numbness, the target gradually loses feeling of their whole body, starting at a single point and spreading throughout the body. Usually numbness only lasts a moment to a few seconds, but in the event one has stared long enough into the eyes, they may be unable to feel or move a certain body part for up to 5 minutes. Numbness is not paralysis nor is it petrification, therefore, a target who has become completely numb is likely to collapse to the floor. Most physical sensations perpetually increase in potency until the target loses consciousness. For example, if the target is immune to the sensation of burning, the burning sensation will increase in them indefinitely, because they never pass out from the pain. Of course, if the target looks away or averts their eyes, all sensations stop, as the user can no longer maintain eye contact: In simple terms, the counter to this ability is to look away. Neurokinesis truly shines when used with the Shintōgan's second gift: The hypnotic gaze. Because the second gift draws the target into becoming fixated on the user's eyes, this sets up the target to become enable to resist the effects of the neurokinesis. Therefore, in order to counter the Shintōgan's neurokinesis, one must truly counter the hypnotic gaze in order to stay safe. Neurokinesis alone, isn't much of a threat, but when used in conjunction with hypnotic gaze, it transforms the Shintōgan into a massive threat]

[Bacteria Release | Kekkei Genkai - With the powers of Bacteria Release, the user can create bacteria and other single-celled organisms by converting their own chakra into cells as well as manipulating pre-existing single-celled organisms that exist in the environment. As many bacteria possess extreme adaptive abilities, they can be found in many different forms in all kinds of environments, including the heat from boiling hot springs, extreme pressures and even within the human body. The user has no shortage to bacteria to manipulate, requiring almost chakra to use. Unique bacteria also produce many different substances, such as polymers, ice, and even produce metals such as gold. As bacteria have the ability to produce nearly anything up to the imagination, this gives the user an extreme degree of flexibility and it is one of these traits that Bacteria Release is often considered one of the most versatile elements in the shinobi world. As a byproduct of the Kekkei Tōta, users also have enhanced visual prowess, able to see and recognise cellular life forms with immense clarity with nothing but eyesight alone]

The new powers were pretty neat. She had found the bacteria release to be the most interesting of the bunch, and arguably the best of them. As when combined with her many other powers that involved manipulation of genetics and the body, it became a very powerful and helpful ability.

It was this ability that she had been utilizing in combination with a few others that allowed her to cure the vampire's natural weakness to sunlight and warmth. It had taken her a lot of trial and error over the couple of weeks, but she had done it with the combination of abilities she had.

Morgan was also combining it with a few other powers to help grant some traits to weapons that would help infect and harm Trihexa when it appeared. She estimated that it'd be breaking out within a week or so, longer than she had initially expected, but she had a feeling that it was going to happen while she was dealing with the Greek.

It was the perfect time afterall, with all of the things she had to deal with combining all at the same time. And Rizevim was smart enough to know that that was the best time to release the beast.

Good thing she had plans in place that would work no matter if she was there or not. And if he did end up releasing the beast, then she could just take care of the Coalition at a much faster pace, and then move onto dealing with the Beast of the Apocalypse.

Morgan had also taken to researching more into the past of Trihexa, and what it had been doing before it had ever been sealed. There wasn't actually a ton of information, so she had to use her divinity to find said info.

That information was...a little concerning. As the way the beast was described was...more than what she was expecting. It seemed...different in some form. Sure, it was chaos given form just like Ophis had described it. But from the legends, there was something else about it that she had noticed.

It was always seen as if it was a female.

She wondered how the beings of old could find that information out, and just what Trihexa had been doing when the Earth began. But it would seem that even with her domain, there was pieces of information that she simply could not gain access to. Not at her current level of power.

Morgan suspected that it was similar to the reason why she could not use her domain to find out how and why Fate characters were appearing in her universe. And whether or not it was an actual connection, or if there was something deeper going on.

Something more dangerous.

But now, after two weeks of working to prepare for the war against the Greeks, Morgan felt an attempt at intruding into her territory of Japan, as she sat in her office in Kuoh.

Feeling this, Morgan looked up from her notes, as a sigh echoed from her lips, and she got to her feet.

For she knew deep down...

That the War against the Gods was beginning.

And with it...change would come.
