Chapter 86 - Chapter 85: Humanity's Extinction

In the human realm a massive large comet crashed down in the middle of the last city known as Spade; a large gathering of humans gathered around the crash site. The site was covered in smoke. One of the humans tried to look through the smoke, but then Katerina walked through the smoke and looked directly at the humans gathered around her. She placed her hand on her hip and said, "Filthy humans still trying to cling onto life." She looked around the surrounding area and started to search for any powerful magic users amongst the humans. As everything went silent, not a single human spoke a word since Katerina appeared, but then Katerina slammed her tail into the ground and said, "It looks like your guardian has abandoned you, so shall we begin the slaughter?" Katerina clicked her fingers on the ground beneath them. Started to crumble away, a massive red energy started gathering in Katerine's hand; she used the condensed energy in an orb and slammed it into the ground. Suddenly the ground started to create a vein-like pattern as the red energy started to explode through the ground. The humans started to scream in fear as the explosion started spreading throughout the whole city. People started dying, and the remaining humans tried to leave, but it seemed like the explosion was following them. Katerina noticed a large group of humans that had almost escaped the city. She smiled and said, "Oh no, you all die here." Two large cracks in space opened beside Katerina as two large draconic mini-guns appeared beside her. She pointed directly at the ground of humans as she fired thousands of bullets in that direction, killing every human within that group. Katerina looked up to the sky as she felt a massive amount of mana heading in her direction. She said, "At last you have come, guardian of humans." Katerina stood there in the middle of the chaos, waiting for this guardian to arrive. Back in the Nether realm, Nova and the Others are watching all this in the gathering hall. Testarossa said, "What are we waiting for at this rate? She is going to wipe out all of humanity." As Testarossa grew frustrated, Maria shouted, saying, "WE BARELY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER. WE CAN'T GO INTO A FIGHT LIKE THIS, BLIND." While they were arguing, Nova was looking around the room as her eyes widened, saying, "Has anyone seen Jade?" The sudden realisation stopped them from arguing. Maria called in one of her guards and said, "Has anyone seen Jade?" The guard started sweating, saying, "Lady Jade told me she was heading back to the Human Realm." Hearing this, Testarossa stood up and tried to create a portal to the Human Realm, but her magic kept failing. She said, "What is going on?" Maria and Nova both tried to realise something was stopping them from creating Portals. Nova said, "This must have been Katerina doing it. We are still unaware of her powers; she might have blocked all magic from entering the human realm. The only thing we can do is pray that Jade can get out of there somehow." Maria ordered her guards to surround the castle and keep an eye out for anything suspicious. She then said, "For now we can observe." Everyone was on edge, but they had faith in Jade. In the human realm, Jade was swiftly heading towards Spade; while going through old, destroyed cities, she started to feel guilty. She said, "I allow this to happen. The powerful beings that keep coming have almost destroyed everything, and I couldn't do anything to stop it, but even if this is the end, I will give it my all." Jade jumped onto a skyscraper and started sliding down it; she used the added momentum to launch herself in the air quite far. Jade arrived at Spade; she used the power of her rune to create openings throughout the city. Jade yelled, saying, "Everyone find one of the openings and get out of here now," as a massive red energy started exploding in the distance. Katerina walked up to Jade, saying, "Well, well, isn't it Humanity's Guardian? Have you come to die with your people?" Jade stood across from Katerina as she started channelling lightning throughout her body. Katerina lowered her. Guns said, "I have an offer for you, Jade. If you surrender this realm to me, I will spare the last remaining humans from their fate, so what do you say?" Jade instantly responded and said, "I will never give up this realm." Jade dashed towards Katerina at high speed. Katerina smiled as she aimed her guns as Jade started shooting thousands of bullets towards her. Jade used her lighting to block the incoming bullets; she jumped in the air and spanned around, about to kick Katerina, but then Katerina blocked the incoming kick with her arms. She then used her tail to wrap around Jade's arm and then slammed her into the ground. Katerina smiled, saying, "You call that a kick." Katerina planted her feet and kicked Jade in the stomach, launching her into the closet building. Jade spat out blood and said, "I'm completely useless against her at this rate; she will kill me before I can even do anything." Jade stood up and smiled; she dashed towards Katerina, releasing a massive amount of mana in her direction. Jade started gathering. Lighting into her hand as Katerina started to fire in her direction. Jade used her grand spell called "Bolt Of Rajin". She released a massive thunderbolt in Katerina; however, Katerina used the red energy to block the spell. She then tried to smack Jade away with her tail, but then she realised that the Jade she was fighting was an afterimage. The real Jade appeared behind Katerina and said, "I will put everything into this attack." The rune on her chest started to glow bright green as she said, "In fearful times, dreadful weather, beware of its quickness." "Intense to strike twice, behold lighting." Her rune pattern surrounded Katerina and transported her into a pocket dimension. Katerina looked around, smiling, saying, "It's impressive to think runes are capable of doing this." Suddenly thousands of thunder bolts started coming from the sky as Jade pointed at Katerina; they all came crashing down. Jade said, "Be crushed by the power of Thunder." The attacks created a large smokescreen, as Jade could hear laughing from inside the smoke. Katerina removed her glasses as a red and yellow came out of the smoke. Jade looked around and realised the pocket dimension was crumbling. She said, "What was that?" As the dimension faded, she saw Katerina unscathed, but she realised she removed her glasses and sensed an endless amount of mana coming from her eyes. She said in a worrying tone, "What is that power?" Katerina smiled and walked up to Jade, saying, "You fought well, but it was hopeless in the end." She then opened her hand as three red slashes came out, hitting Jade in the legs. She suddenly screamed out in pain, saying, "MY LEGS, YOU BROKE MY LEGS." Katerina grabbed Jade's head and said, "I possess two types of magic: annihilation and disintegration magic. You fought well, so consider this your reward." She then slammed Jade's head into the ground over and over. Even after falling unconscious, Katerina repeatedly slammed her head into the ground until her whole hand was covered in Jade's blood. She picked her up and threw her into a building. Katerina then covered herself in red energy and said, "Annihilation Order Zero." Massive red pillars of energy burst out of the ground. Katerina used an annihilation spell called "Extinction"; the pillars started whipping out everything it touched, only leaving ashes behind. Back in the gathering hall, Testarossa is crying after seeing what happened to Jade until suddenly a voice comes out of the monitor saying, "Maria, prepare your people for the worst. I'm on my way to the human realm now to recover Jade." Everyone's eyes widened as they all said "Sylvia". Nova quickly said, "That means we should be able to create portals now. I'm going to head to Harmony to meet up with Sylvia. " Nova opened up an icy portal, but before she went through it, Testarossa grabbed her shoulder, saying, "I'm coming with you." Nova nodded in response as they both went through the portal as it closed behind them.
